<br />Regular meeting of the City Council was held.
<br />Upon roll call there were present Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T:Thorning, D.R.Stafford, G.W.
<br />McNulty, E.M.Dearborn, City -Clerk W.A.Price.
<br />On motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman McNulty minutes of July 2nd,
<br />1928, be approved as read.
<br />A protest from property owners consisting 96 names against the propised improvements
<br />on Woodside Road at this time, was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Council..
<br />man Dearborn said protest be received and filed for future referrence. Motion carried.
<br />Application of Ida Parsons for a permit to operate a candy, ice. cream and light lunch
<br />wagon upon the streets of Redwood City, was on motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded b•j
<br />Councilman McNulty said permit be granted west of the Highway excepting on block on
<br />Broadway. Motion carried.
<br />Application of Al 41arkgraf for a permit to hold dances in Forester§sHall on Wed
<br />evenings July 4,11,18, and 25, also July 7,114, 21, and 28, 1928, was on motion of Coun-
<br />cilman Thorning seconded by Councilman Stafford said permits be granted, Motion carried.
<br />Application of the Young Mens Institute #66 for a permit to hold a Aance in Foreaste:?s
<br />Hall July 219 1928, was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Stafford
<br />said permit be granted. Motion carried,
<br />Application of Wallace & Stump for a Masters Plumbers licence, also application of t -ie
<br />Wedel E18ctric Co for a license in the Town of Redwood City, was on motion of
<br />Councilman Stafford seconded by Councilman McNulty said permits be granted,Motion carries.
<br />The following communication was received by the Council from the Redwood City Distri3t
<br />Real Estate Board, to -wit:
<br />To the Honorable Board of City Trustees,
<br />Redwood City, Calif.
<br />Gentlemen:
<br />At a meeting of the Redwood City District Real Estate Board Yield July 10tl,
<br />1928, a motion was presented and passed as follows: -
<br />Respectfully request the City Council of Redwood City Re -zone the
<br />property as selected by Thomas Nelson for his laundry site at Jefferson
<br />Ave and the Railroad.
<br />The Secretary was instructed to write the Board of Trustees of the action,
<br />Respectfully,

<br />Moved by Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman Thorning, the City Attornpry
<br />be instructed to change our ordinance to light indrustrial zone to confer with the get-
<br />ition. Motion carried,
<br />Application of the Pacific Gas & Electric Cc for a permit to install conduit to
<br />supply the new threatre, was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman MeV-
<br />ulty said permit be granted. Motion carried,
<br />Application of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co -for permission to place a 211
<br />iron pipe In sidewalk at Redwood Ave and Highway, was on motion of Councilman Thorning,
<br />seconded by Councilman Stafford said permit be granted, Motion carried.
<br />Moved by Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Dearborn the City Engineer be
<br />instructed to prepare Plans and specifications for the improvement of Minnie and George
<br />Streets, Motion carried.
<br />Mayor Beeger appointed the following as Planing Commissioners, to -wit:

<br />Moved by Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dearborn the First National
<br />Bank and the Bank of Italy be declared the depositories of the City Treasurer. Motion carried.
