<br />Regular meeting of the City Council. held,
<br />Upon roll call there were present Councilmen, Mayor H.A.Beeger, Z.T.Thorning, D.R.
<br />Stafford, G.W.MeNulty, E.M.Dearborn, City Clerk W.A.Price.
<br />Minutes of meeting held October let, 1928, were read and on motion of Councilman Me
<br />nulty, seconded by Councilman Dearborn, same be approved as reaa.,.Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Planning Commission recommending set back lines be establish-
<br />ed on both sides of George and Minnie Streets from George Otto James St and Minnie St,
<br />from Highway to Gearge Street, was on motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Coun-
<br />cilman McNulty, same be received and filed. Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Planning Commission was received as follows: to -wit: r
<br />That the petition of Mr E.E.Magruder to rezone a portion of block C. Clinton Street, be
<br />denied,
<br />Also the petition of Mrs Jansing to rezone lots 7 and 9 in block 17, be granted. was
<br />on motion of Dounbilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman Thorning the Council abide by
<br />the decision of the Planning Commission. Motion carried.
<br />Application of Al Markgrafs Orchestra, for dance permits in Foresters Hall, on Wed-
<br />nesciat evenings October 3rd, 10, 17, 24, and 31., 1928, also Saturday evenings October,
<br />' 6th, 139 200 and 27th, 1928, was on motion of Councilman Thorning, seconded by Council-
<br />man Stafford, same be granted. Motion carried.
<br />Communication from the Peninsula City.Planning Commissions, regarding a meeting to
<br />be held in the Auditorium of the Burlingame High School, October 17th, 1928, was on
<br />motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman McNulty, same be received and
<br />filed. Motion carried. Motion carried.
<br />A petition was received from the property owners asking for the improvement of Vel-
<br />ota Road off Woodside Road, was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seoonrled by Counei-lmal
<br />Stafford same be received and filed and referred to the Street Committee, Motion eartiad.
<br />A petition was received by the Council asking of the widening of Main Street from
<br />Broadway, to Bradford Street „ was on motion of Souncilmari McNulty, seconded by Count
<br />Gilman Dearborn said petition be received for further referrence, Motion oarried.
<br />A petition was received from several property owners regarding an old unused barn
<br />on Iris Street, in the rear of the lots, was on motion of Councilman McNulty, seeondeL
<br />by Councilman Thorning on advice of the City Attorney the Clerk be instructed to write
<br />and inform said petitioers that it is a private matter and should be brought up beforoi
<br />courts. Motion carried.
<br />Application of the Pacific Gas & Electric Co for permission to set poles on Madison
<br />Street „ was on motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Couneilmam Thorning said per-
<br />mit be granted. Motion carried.
<br />Councilman Thorning offers Ordinance No. 287, (An Ordinance calling for selection
<br />of fifteen (15) freeholders) and moves its introduction, Councilman McNulty, seeond.e
<br />the motion. Motion carried,
<br />Moved by Councilman Dearborn, Seconded by Councilman Thorning, Mr E.W.Magruder
<br />be given 90 days to remove his lumber yard situated on portion of block C, Clinton
<br />street, and Vera Ave, Motion carried.
<br />on motion of Councilman Dearborn, seconded by Councilman McNulty the City Atty
<br />be instructed to take the neccessary steps in the matter of the 10 foot set back linos
<br />on both sides of Minnie and Geoarge Streets. Motion carried.
