T.Totion carried. <br />On motion of Trustee Thorning, seconded by Trustee Dearborn the City Clerk be ins., <br />trusted to purchase 250 feet of 21 inch Double Jacket Fire hose. I;Totion carried. <br />Moved by Trustee yoNulty, seconded by Trustee Dearborn, the Board officially ac- <br />cept on be hall' of the City, the bronze tablet donated by the history and civic classes <br />of the Sequoia Union High School and placed on the grounds of the Redwood City Free <br />Library in commeration of the building of the first ship in Redwood City, Motion earriea. <br />On motion of Trustee 11c1lulty, seconded by Trustee Dearborn the Board recommend toi <br />all Contractors hereafter bidding on City work to be asked to secure their bonds throu� <br />local agents whereever possible. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Trustee Dearborn, seconded by Trustee McNulty, the Supt of Plater, be <br />instructed place the bronze tablet presented to the City some years ago by Mr W.J.Dinge; <br />on the grounds of the City reservoir. Motion carried. <br />Trustee Dearborn offers the following Resolution and moves its adoption,Trustee <br />McNulty seconds the motion. Motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING PLATYS AND SPECIFICATIONS. I-9. <br />RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City, County of San <br />Mateo, State of California that the City Engineer be and he is hereby ordered to prepar.. <br />plans, profiles, specifications and estimates for doing the following work and making <br />the following improvements in said Town of Redwood City, to -wit: <br />That Vera Avenue from the <br />southwesterly line of Fulton <br />Street to the southwesterly line of <br />King Street extended northwest- <br />erly across Vera Avenue; King <br />Street from the northwesterly line <br />of Roosevelt Avenue to the south- <br />easterly line of Vera Avenue; <br />Hudson Street from the north- <br />westerly line of Vera Avenue to <br />the southeasterly line of Madison <br />Avenue; and Madison Avenue <br />from the southwesterly line of <br />Fulton Street to a line across <br />Madison Avenue 23.66 feet south- <br />westerly from and parallel to the <br />southwesterly line of Hudson <br />Street extended northwesterly <br />across Madison Avenue, including <br />all stioet and avenue intersections <br />and terminations and portions <br />thereof included within the lines <br />of the several streets and ave- <br />nues above described, be im- <br />proved as follows, to -wit: <br />That the said streets and ave- <br />nues and portions thereof above <br />described be graded and that <br />the roadways of said streets and <br />avenues and portions thereof above <br />described be paved with a four <br />(2) inch asphaltic concrete pave- <br />ment on a three (3) inch base <br />or cushion of broken stone. There <br />is excepted, however, from the <br />above described- work a strip <br />eighteen (13) inches in width im. <br />mediately adjacent to the curb <br />lines on both sides of the herein- <br />before mentioned and described <br />streets and avenues that are to <br />be paved which is reserved for <br />gutters, provided, however, that <br />a two (2) inch base or cushion <br />of broken stone shall be placed <br />under all gutters to be built as <br />herein provided. <br />That hydraulic cement concrete <br />combination curb and gutter be <br />constructed on both sides of all <br />the hereinbefore mentioned and <br />described streets and avenues and <br />portions thereof that are to be <br />Paved, the curb portion of said <br />combination curb and gutter to <br />be six (6) inches across the top <br />and eleven (11) inches deep, and <br />the gutter portion of said combi- <br />nation curb and gutter to be <br />eighteen (13) inches wide and to <br />be six (6) inches thick next to <br />the pavement and five (6) inches <br />thick next to the curb, and said <br />combination curb and gutter to <br />be constructed at one time so <br />that there shall be no joint be- <br />tween the curb and gutter. Said <br />combination curb and gutter shall <br />be constructed upon all corners <br />of intersecting and terminating <br />streets and avenues within the <br />lines of the streets and avenues <br />hereinbefore" described to be <br />paved. <br />Passed and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City at a <br />reL,°ular meeting of said Board held on the 21st day of June, 19269 by the following vote; <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing Resolution, Trustees, <br />Z.T.T116RNING, G.'.'I.I.TcNCJLTY, E.I&DEARBORN, H.A.BEEGER. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing Resolution, Trustees, <br />NONE - <br />Absent, Trustees, A.E.Yonteith. <br />
