Moved by Trustee yoNulty, seconded by Trustee Dearborn, the Board officially ac- cept on be hall' of the City, the bronze tablet donated by the history and civic classes of the Sequoia Union High School and placed on the grounds of the Redwood City Free Library in commeration of the building of the first ship in Redwood City, Motion earriea. On motion of Trustee 11c1lulty, seconded by Trustee Dearborn the Board recommend toi all Contractors hereafter bidding on City work to be asked to secure their bonds throu� local agents whereever possible. Motion carried. Moved by Trustee Dearborn, seconded by Trustee McNulty, the Supt of Plater, be instructed place the bronze tablet presented to the City some years ago by Mr W.J.Dinge; on the grounds of the City reservoir. Motion carried. Trustee Dearborn offers the following Resolution and moves its adoption,Trustee McNulty seconds the motion. Motion carried. RESOLUTION ORDERING PLATYS AND SPECIFICATIONS. I-9. RESOLVED, by the Board of Trustees of the Town of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, State of California that the City Engineer be and he is hereby ordered to prepar.. plans, profiles, specifications and estimates for doing the following work and making the following improvements in said Town of Redwood City, to -wit: That Vera Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fulton Street to the southwesterly line of King Street extended northwest- erly across Vera Avenue; King Street from the northwesterly line of Roosevelt Avenue to the south- easterly line of Vera Avenue; Hudson Street from the north- westerly line of Vera Avenue to the southeasterly line of Madison Avenue; and Madison Avenue from the southwesterly line of Fulton Street to a line across Madison Avenue 23.66 feet south- westerly from and parallel to the southwesterly line of Hudson Street extended northwesterly across Madison Avenue, including all stioet and avenue intersections and terminations and portions thereof included within the lines of the several streets and ave- nues above described, be im- proved as follows, to -wit: That the said streets and ave- nues and portions thereof above described be graded and that the roadways of said streets and avenues and portions thereof above described be paved with a four (2) inch asphaltic concrete pave- ment on a three (3) inch base or cushion of broken stone. There is excepted, however, from the above described- work a strip eighteen (13) inches in width im. mediately adjacent to the curb lines on both sides of the herein- before mentioned and described streets and avenues that are to be paved which is reserved for gutters, provided, however, that a two (2) inch base or cushion of broken stone shall be placed under all gutters to be built as herein provided. That hydraulic cement concrete combination curb and gutter be constructed on both sides of all the hereinbefore mentioned and described streets and avenues and portions thereof that are to be Paved, the curb portion of said combination curb and gutter to be six (6) inches across the top and eleven (11) inches deep, and the gutter portion of said combi- nation curb and gutter to be eighteen (13) inches wide and to be six (6) inches thick next to the pavement and five (6) inches thick next to the curb, and said combination curb and gutter to be constructed at one time so that there shall be no joint be- tween the curb and gutter. Said combination curb and gutter shall be constructed upon all corners of intersecting and terminating streets and avenues within the lines of the streets and avenues hereinbefore" described to be paved.
