Redwood City July 60'19269 8 o'clock, P.M. <br />Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees held. <br />Upom roll call there were present Trustees, Pres H.A.Beeger, Z:T.Thorning, G.W.MeNulty <br />E.M.Dearborn, City ClerktW.A.Price. <br />Absent, Trustee, A.E.Monteith, <br />6 <br />The minutes of meetings held May 17th, 24th, June let, 8th, 21st, 1926, were read <br />and on motion of Trustee Thorning seconded by Trustee Dearborn said minutes be approved <br />as read. Motion carried. <br />The following resignation of Mr A.E.Monteith, was on motion of Trustee McNulty, <br />seconded by Trustee Thorning, and carried to -wit: <br />Redwood City, CalfforAla. <br />June 30, 1926. <br />To the City Board of Trustees, <br />Redwood City, California. <br />Gentlemen: There are matters coming before you constantly for decision where, I <br />know, the full membership of the Board would be desirables As you know, my illness has <br />`prevented me from assuming my part of the responsibilities of the Board for a long time. <br />It may still be some time before `I am "able .to do so. Realizing this I believe the best i r' -O _.cst <br />interests of the City will be server by my making'it possible for you to appoint one <br />who'can give the time and attention needed.. <br />I am therefore handing you my resignation as a member of this board tc <br />take effect at once, regretting; of course, very much my inability to remain on the BoGrd. <br />I have enjoyed my association withMen of-sueh splendid Public Spirit <br />as made up the Board. I have enjoyed the confidence of serving on the Board, feeling <br />that I was doing my bit in the interest of the City, and it is a dispointment to me <br />that my health does not permit me to continue. <br />Thanking you all for the many courtesies shown me. I am <br />Yours very truly <br />A.E.Monteith. <br />Moved by Trustee Thorning, seconded by Trustee McNulty, that Mr D.R.Stafford be <br />appointed a member of the Board of Trustees of-vthe Town of Redwood City to fill the <br />vacancy of Mr A.E.Monteith who resignation was excepted by the Board.Motion carried. <br />Thereupon the oath of office was adminstered to Mr Stafford, and on motion of <br />Trustee Dearborn seconded by Trustee McNulty the oath of office of Mr D.R.Stafford be <br />received and filed. Motion carried. <br />Communication from the State Board of Health, regarding the attendance mf the City <br />Health Officer at the convention of the League of Californ&a, August 16.19,at Yosemite, <br />was on motion of Trustee Dearborn, seconded by Trustee Thorning same be received and <br />filed. Motion.carried. <br />Communication from the Sacramento Chamber of Commerce soliciting the suppose of <br />the members of this Board who attend the convention of California League of Municipal- <br />ities at Yosemite to have the holding of the 1927 convention in the City of Sacrament(* <br />was on motion of Trustee McNulty, seconded by Trustee Dearborn same be received and <br />filed. Motion carried. <br />Application of W.M.Platt of Menlo Park for doing Electrical work in this City, <br />was on motion of Trustee McNulty, seconded by Trustee Thorning, Mr Platt be granted a <br />license. Motion carried. <br />Chief of Collins of the Police Dept presented his annual report of the activities <br />of the Redwood City Police Dept for the year beginning July lst,2925 and ending June <br />30th, 1926, was on motion of Trustee McNulty, seconded by Trustee Thorning said report; <br />be received and filed.
