Beeger, Z.T.Thorning,D.R, <br />Stafford, G.W. McNulty, W.J.Dusel, P.A.McOarthyCity Clerk W,A.Price. <br />Absent, Councilman E.M.Dearborn. <br />Minutes --of mee.iing,held July 15th,19299 was on motion of Councilman MoNulty, seconded <br />by Councilma4-,-2horning.:'•same be approved as read. Motion carried. <br />Complaint was made to the Counoll in regards to the pulling up of lot stakes on some 1 <br />vacant lots facing on Iris Street by the street contraotor, was on motion of Councilman <br />Stafford, seconded by Councilman Dusel said complaint be referred to the City Manager, <br />Motion carried. <br />The installing of street lights on Iris and Myrtle streets was on motion of Council- <br />man S6afford seconded by Councilman McNulty same be tettered to the City Manafer.Motion <br />carried. <br />On motion of Councilman Stafford, seconced by Counvilman Dusel the replacing of the <br />street sign at the intersection of Broadway and Main Street, same be referred to the City <br />Manager. Motion carried. <br />Affidavit of Sam H. Winklebleck in the matter of Publishing, and affidavits of W. A. <br />Price, City Clark, in the matter of Posting and mailing notice of filing assessment M0. <br />L-2, was on motion of Councilman, Stafford, seconded by Councilman Dusel same be received <br />and filed, Motion carried. <br />A protest was presented to the council from nine propertiowners on Broadway and <br />Main Streets in regards to the manner of work done under resolution$ of intentions no. L-2. <br />4vr7/at- <br />After a partial hearing on the protest was heard 2rom thenhearing( ung--e4-tile--ti-uwl <br />heaTtn-9 )of the protest ani 1111ng of the assessment was continued to Aug. 19, 1929 at 8 <br />o` clock.RM• <br />on motion of Councilman atafford seconded by Council Dasel, the matter of the protest <br />be left to a committee for .investagation the same was left to the City Manager, City enginer <br />And Councilman Stafford to report at next regular meeting Aug, 19, 1929. Motion tarried. <br />Moved by Councilman`i'horning, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the :specifications for <br />thb hook and ladder truck presented by the AWmanager to the council be aoce$pted and bids <br />be advertised for same to be )pen Aug. 19, 19.29 at 8 o'clock P. M. Motion carried. <br />Applications o3 Leonard and Holt for a pemmit to put a canvas sign with the name <br />"Emenald Lake" at across the highway at Jefferson Av. was on motion of Councilman McNulty, <br />seconded by Councilman Thorhing said permit bedenied. Motion, carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Thorning secondeV by Councilman Stafford the increase of salaries <br />recommended by the City Manager be approved by the Councilto-wit George Hopkins to 2000, 'a <br />month Miss Anita C'eSZ n-140 per month, Mi -as Diary Donovan 1304p per month said salaries oom- <br />mencing July 1, 1929;. Motion carried. <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty seconded by C ouncilman Dusel, the City Attorney be in- <br />structed to prepare an ordinance regarding the City Assessments and a collection of city <br />taxes. Motion carried. <br />
