7 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING 1 OF THE REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL HELD APRIL 7, 1930 Upon roll call there were present: Councilmen Mayor H. A. Beeger, W. J. Dusel, 'a i. C. J. Hildebrant, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, D. R. Stafford, Z. T. Thorning, �j and City Clerk, B. E. Myers. i} +j. Minutes of the meeting held March 17, 1930, were ordered approved upon motion of f4 Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Dusel. The following dance permits were granted upon motion of Councilman Thorning, r seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. (1) Al J. Markgraf Saturday April 5, 12, 19, 26. (2) Redwood Social & Development Club May 2. Mr. A. Wentz made oral protest concerning the odors from the fox farm in South Redwood but no official action was taken. Mr. Geo. Petersen addressed the Council concerning a charge levied against his property for the removal of weeds last year and appearing on the tax roll. The City Manager was instructed to make a further investigation. { Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Dusel the City Manager's 'f - y recommendation that B. E. Myers be appointed as City Clerk was approved. The City Manager's recommendation that the Pacific Gas & Electric Company be authorized to remove a pole in front of the property of B. P. Arata was discussed and upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the City Manager was authorized to interview the Pacific Gas & Electric Company and ask them to remove the pole without expense to the property owner or the I! permit to have the pole would be revoked. i� The communication from -the Railroad Commission concerning the application of (� Pickwick Stages S stem for a consolidation of its rights and privileges with P the Peninsula Rapid Transit Company and the Southern Pacific Motor Transport Company was, upon motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Dusel, referred to Councilman McCarthy and the City Manager. Upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant the letter } from A. J. Stebenne together with claim of Manuel R. Vierra was laid over until the next meeting.. i The communication signed by Viola Maysenhalder for the Greater South Redwood i � Improvement Club was received and filed. The City Manager was instructed to make a preliminary survey of the sidewalk conditions and report next meeting--- t, all'on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. j� The letter of the Redwood City Retailers Association indicating their unanimous _ decision to support the bond issue was received and filed upon motion of Council- man Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman Dusel, and the Clerk was instructed to i, write a letter of thanks. Peter B. Klitch filed an application for plumbers license attaching a $50.00 check for the necessary fee. Upon motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman McNulty, the license was granted subject to all conditions being approved by the City Attorney. ,p 179 0
