7 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />1 OF THE REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />HELD APRIL 7, 1930 <br />Upon roll call there were present: Councilmen Mayor H. A. Beeger, W. J. Dusel, <br />'a <br />i. C. J. Hildebrant, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, D. R. Stafford, Z. T. Thorning, <br />�j and City Clerk, B. E. Myers. <br />i} <br />+j. Minutes of the meeting held March 17, 1930, were ordered approved upon motion of <br />f4 Councilman Thorning, seconded by Councilman Dusel. <br />The following dance permits were granted upon motion of Councilman Thorning, <br />r seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. <br />(1) Al J. Markgraf Saturday April 5, 12, 19, 26. <br />(2) Redwood Social & Development Club May 2. <br />Mr. A. Wentz made oral protest concerning the odors from the fox farm in South <br />Redwood but no official action was taken. <br />Mr. Geo. Petersen addressed the Council concerning a charge levied against his <br />property for the removal of weeds last year and appearing on the tax roll. <br />The City Manager was instructed to make a further investigation. <br />{ Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Dusel the City Manager's <br />'f - <br />y recommendation that B. E. Myers be appointed as City Clerk was approved. <br />The City Manager's recommendation that the Pacific Gas & Electric Company be <br />authorized to remove a pole in front of the property of B. P. Arata was discussed <br />and upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the <br />City Manager was authorized to interview the Pacific Gas & Electric Company <br />and ask them to remove the pole without expense to the property owner or the <br />I! permit to have the pole would be revoked. <br />i� <br />The communication from -the Railroad Commission concerning the application of <br />(� Pickwick Stages S stem for a consolidation of its rights and privileges with <br />P the Peninsula Rapid Transit Company and the Southern Pacific Motor Transport <br />Company was, upon motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by Councilman Dusel, <br />referred to Councilman McCarthy and the City Manager. <br />Upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant the letter <br />} from A. J. Stebenne together with claim of Manuel R. Vierra was laid over <br />until the next meeting.. <br />i The communication signed by Viola Maysenhalder for the Greater South Redwood <br />i <br />� Improvement Club was received and filed. The City Manager was instructed to <br />make a preliminary survey of the sidewalk conditions and report next meeting--- <br />t, <br />all'on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. <br />j� The letter of the Redwood City Retailers Association indicating their unanimous <br />_ decision to support the bond issue was received and filed upon motion of Council- <br />man Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman Dusel, and the Clerk was instructed to <br />i, write a letter of thanks. <br />Peter B. Klitch filed an application for plumbers license attaching a $50.00 check <br />for the necessary fee. Upon motion of Councilman Stafford, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty, the license was granted subject to all conditions being <br />approved by the City Attorney. <br />,p <br />179 <br />0 <br />
