183 <br />M-6----- <br />' Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman -McCarthy offered the following <br />Resolution and moved its adoption: <br />r; RESOLUTION ORDERING PLANS, PROFILES AND SPECIFICATIONS NO.M-6 <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, <br />! County of San Mateo, State of California, that C.L.Dimmitt, <br />Dity Engineer of said City, be and he is hereby ordered to <br />prepare plans, profiles, detailed drawings, specifications <br />and estimates for doing the following work and making the <br />following improvements in said City, to -wit: <br />That Maple Street from the edge of the existing pavement <br />�. and gutter on the production in a straight line of the westerly <br />' line of Main Street northerly across said Maple Street south- <br />westerly to the production of the division line between lots <br />one and two, block six, Diller's Addition, as shown on the map <br />thereof -recorded in Book E of Maps at page 77, records of San <br />Mateo County, extended southeasterly across said Maple Street, <br />be imlpr'oved as follows, to -wit: <br />1. That the existing concrete curb on the northwesterly. <br />side of Maple Street between the production northerly of the <br />westerly line of Main Street across Maple Street southwesterly <br />to the northerly line of the right of way of the Southern Pacific <br />Railroad Company and thirty-seven (37) linear feet of the <br />existing concrete curb at the southerly corner of the inter- <br />section of Main Street with Maple Street and also that eighteen <br />ti (18) linear feet of the existing concrete curb on Maple Street <br />at the.southerly corner of the termination of Lathrop Street <br />at Maple Street be removed. <br />2. That Maple Street for the full width of the roadway <br />and for the length hereinbefore described including all inter- <br />sections, terminations, opposite terminations or portions <br />thereof within the lines and limits of Maple Street above' <br />described be graded and paved with hydraulic cement concrete <br />- pavement six (6) inches thick laid upon a base of broken stone <br />three (3) inches thick after rolling., with a cushion of sand one <br />j (1) inch thick laid between said broken stone base and said <br />concrete pavement; provided, however, that said concrete pavement <br />shall have a thickness of eight (8) inches along the centerline <br />of said Maple Street and taper to a thickness of six (6) inches <br />4 at points three (3) feet on each side of said centerline. <br />There is excepted from the above described pavement all <br />that portion of Maple Street lying between a line two (2) <br />feet northeasterly from and parallel to the northeasterly rail of <br />the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's tracks and a line two <br />(2) feet southwesterly from and parallel to the most south- <br />westerly rail of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's tracks; <br />also there is excepted from the above described pavement the <br />area included between the northeasterly and southwesterly <br />lines of the concrete bridge on Maple Street between the <br />Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right of way and Lathrop <br />Street. <br />3. That hydraulic cement concrete curbs integral with <br />the pavement and six (6) inches across the top and twelve (12) <br />inches deep be constructed on both sides of Maple Street <br />hereinbefore described including all corners of intersections, <br />terminations or opposite terminations or portions thereof <br />within the lines and limits of Maple Street as above <br />described. said hydraulic cement concrete curbs to be laid <br />upon a base of broken stone three (3) inches thick after <br />rolling with a cushion of said.one (1) inch thick laid <br />between said broken stone base and said concrete curb to be <br />built and constructed at the same time as the pavement. <br />There is excepted from the above described hydraulic <br />cement concrete curbs all curb now in place which has not <br />been ordered removed herein and also there is excepted from <br />the above described hydraulic cement concrete curb on both <br />sides of Maple Street between the northeasterly and south- <br />westerly right of way lines of the Southern Pacific Railroad <br />Company and there is also excepted from the above described <br />hydraulic cement concrete curbs the concrete bridge on Maple <br />Street between the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right• <br />of way and lathrop Street. <br />4. That hydraulic cement concrete sidewalks four (4) <br />inches thick and five (5) feet in width be constructed on <br />the northwesterly side of Maple Street between the production <br />
