The Clerk of the City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and <br />directed to post a notice of said work and improvements, together with <br />the plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications therefor, <br />conspicuously for five days on or near the Council chamber door of the <br />Council of the City of Redwood City, inviting sealed proposals or bids <br />for doing the work and making the improvements ordered herein. Said <br />Clerk is also ordered and directed to cause to be published a notice <br />inviting such sealed proposals or bids and referring to the plans, <br />profiles, detailed drawings and specifications,posted or on file, <br />for the period required by law, in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily <br />newspaper of general circulation published; printed and circulated in <br />said City of Redwood City, and hereby designated for that purpose by <br />the Council of said City of Redwood City. <br />It is further ordered that sealed proposals or bids be received <br />up to the hour of 8 o'clock P. M. of Monday the 19th day of May, 1930„ <br />when all proposals or bids received will be publicly opened, examined and <br />declared by the Council of the City of Redwood City. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City <br />at the hour of 10:05 o'clock P. M. at a regular meeting of said <br />Council held on`tHe-5th day of May, 1530, by the following vote: <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing Resolution, Councilmen, <br />H.A.Beeger, W.J.Dusel, C.J.Hildebrant, P.A.McCarthy, G.W.McNulty, D.R.Stafford. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing Resolution, Councilmen, NONE. <br />Absent, Councilmen, Z.T.Thorning. <br />DANIEL R. STAFFORD <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Dusel, introduced Ordinance No. 311 <br />"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE INCURRING OF BONDED INDEBTEDNESS BY THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, IN THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CA LI M1 RNIA, <br />IN THE SUM OF 5$553000.00 IN GOLD COIN OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TO <br />PAY THE COST OF CERTAIN PUBLIC MUNICIPAL IMPROVE1,rTNTS IN AND FOR SAID <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS OF SAID <br />CITY EVIDENCING SUCH INDEBTEDNESS." <br />The formal resignation of Councilman Z. T. Thorning was read and upon 4iotion <br />of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman McNultyy it was accepted <br />with many regrets, with instructions to the City Clerk to prepare a letter <br />to Councilman Thorning expressing the thanks and appreciation of the Council <br />Ifor his cooperation. <br />Speaking concerning the purchase of the O'Dea property Councilman Beeger, <br />seconded by Councilman McNulty moved that the City exercise its option and <br />purchase the property. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Stafford explained about the need for greater facilities in the Corporation <br />Is Yard and presented a proposition from the Winship Estate to sell certain <br />property to the City for the sum of $8,500. Upon motion of Councilman Beeger, <br />seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, it was decided to buy the property with <br />the understanding that one-half of the purchase price should be borne by the <br />Water Department and that one-half should be borrowed from the Water Department <br />215 <br />
