39 <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REINTOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />JAN. 5, 1931. <br />7:30 PM <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, H A Beeger, <br />W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman, P A McCarthy, G til McNulty. City Clerk B E Myers. <br />On motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Counci;man Dusel, the minutes of the meeting <br />i <br />of December 22 were approved. <br />Ordinance regulating the use .of public streets and thoroughfares for the purpose of <br />laying pipe, etc., came up for second consideration and finally, upon motion of <br />Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, this ordinance No. 318, <br />was adopted. For full text of this ordinance see Ordinance Book No, 3, Page 113.3 . <br />Ordinance regulating business licenses came up the second time for consideration and <br />AREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, <br />State of California, did, on the 16th day of June, 19300 pass and adopt <br />its Resolution of Intention No. M-9 for the improvement of a portion of <br />Maple Street and Lathrop Street in said'City of'Redwood City, under and <br />pursuant to the provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments <br />thereto, and under the provisions of the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, <br />i and amendments thereto, and to the resolutions, notices and other proceedings <br />of said Council duly adopted and taken, reference to said Resolution <br />of Intention No. 11-9 being hereby expressly made for a description of <br />said work and for further particulars; and <br />YMREAS, the contract for said work and improvements was duly awarded <br />and thereafter duly completed to the satisfaction of the Street Superin- <br />tendent and Council of said City of Redvrood City, whereupon an assessment <br />and warrant were made; recorded and delivered to the contractor in time, <br />form and manner as required by said Acts, and the contractor having made <br />due return thereon, and the same having been duly recorded; and <br />7WREAS, on the 22nd day of December, 1930, the Street Superintendent <br />of the City of Redwood City mado and filed with the City Clerk of said <br />City a complete list of assessments unpaid thereunder upon the respective <br />assessments numbers thereon, whereupon said City Clerk gave notice of the <br />r <br />after short discussion this ordinance, No, 319, was adopted, upon motion of <br />Councilman <br />Councilman Hinman, seconded by Dusel. For full text of this ordinance <br />i <br />see Ordinance Book No, 3, Page. <br />The City tanager's recommendation for changes in the so-called taxi ordinance was <br />read and the City Manager and Attorney were instructed to bring in a revised <br />ordinance the substance of which would give the City Manager, or any other <br />i <br />officer to which the power would be delegated, the right to issue permits, <br />r <br />such permits subject to the approval of the Council. <br />r <br />The City Attorney made a partial report concerning the legality of the Bank of America <br />Trust Department holding Bank of America City deposits of securities and he <br />promised a formal written report at the next meeting. <br />r <br />e <br />Affidavit of the posting oL'%notice of filing of unpaid assessment list for work under <br />d <br />Resolution of Intention M-9, being the improvement of a portion of Maple and <br />Lathrop Streets, was filed, on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by <br />Councilman McNulty.
