Upon motion of Councilman Seeger, seconded by Councilman Hinman, Ordinance leasing the Old ii Corporation Yard for three (3) years to Geo. S. Greeley was presented for the second time and upon roll call was unanimously adopted. (For complete text, see Ordinance Book No. 38 Page I3 Miss Viola Maysenhalder appeared before the Council on behalf of the Humane Society and protested the shooting of birds by boys with air guns, stating that .the Police Department. had told her that there was no law under which they could act.. The. Chief of Police,"however, reported that wuite a number of guns had been taken from children. Miss Maysenhalder also asked information concerning the minimum charge of $1.25 for meters when no water was used and it was explained to her that the meter could be removed and there would be no charge. There was a lengthy but informal discussion concerning the codification or revision of the dity ordinances, that etleast there should be some sort of an index. Upon motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Beeger, the City Attorney was instructed to report back to the Council giving some estimate of the cost of preparing such an index and also making his recommendation as to the feasibility not only of making such index but also the codification. The City Manager brought up for discussion a claim of a local chiropractor for services to Harry Potts, an employee of the City who was injured in the course of his employment. The State Compensation Insurance Fund refused to honor his bill. The matter was finally referred to the City Manager to take up with the Insurance Fund, to ask them to pay this bill in consideration of the great amount of premiums the City has paid in and the nominal benefits paid to injured employees. There was an informal discussion concerning the signals at Broadway and the Railroad tracks but no action was taken. Upon the request of Eikerenkotter and Johnson to be allowed the privilege of operating a speed boat and the construction of a skidway at the harbor, the matter was brought before the Council and, upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Dusel, was referred to the City Manager and Harbor Committee. Upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Dusel, affidavit of posting and publishing notice of filing unpaid assessment list and of time fixed for hearing thereon under Resolution M-8, (Chestnut Street Paving) were ordered filed. Whereupon Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Counoilman Hildebrant, offered the following Resolution providing for the issuance of street improvement bonds: AN ORDER PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS, PRESCRIBING THE DENOMINATIONS OF SUCH BONDS AND OF THE INTEREST COUPONS ATTACHED THERETO. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City, County of San Mateo, state of California, did, on the 16th day of June, 1930, pass and adopt its Resolution of Intention No. M-8 for the improvement of a portion of Chestnut Street in said City of Redwood City, under and pursuant to the provisions of the Improvement Act of 1911, and amendments thereto, and under the provisions of the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and amend- ments thereto,,and to the resolutions, notices and other proceedings of said Council duly adopted and taken, reference to said Resolution of Intention No. M-8 being hereby expressly made for a description of said work and for further particulars; and 361
