387 MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDNOOD CITY COUNCIL APRIL 6, 1931 8:00 P M Upon roll call,.the following Councilmen were present: Mayor D R Stafford, H A Beeger, W J Dusel, C J Hildebrant, E B Hinman, P A McCarthy, G W McNulty. City Clerk B E Byers. On motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Beeger, the minutes of the meeting of March 23 were approved. John Brackett asked what could be done about the removal of a pole directly in front of his driveway on the southwest sidd of James Street at E1 Camino Real explaining that he had been quoted a price of nearly $300 as the cost for removing it. Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Dusel, referred the matter to the City Manager to work it out with the Pacific Gas & Electric Company. Mr. Brackett also inquired about the removal of a eucalyptus tree across the street near the fence at James and the Highway but no action was taken. On motion of Councilman Dusel, seconded by Councilman Beeger, Geo. W. Young for Young and Company was granted a license to serve as plumber provided the bond to be furnished was acceptable. On motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Dusel, the Clerk was instructed to write our representatives in the Legislature and ask them to oppose Assembly bill No. 220 in regard to municipal sealers of weights and measures. Upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, the Clerk was instructed to write the conference committee of the National Conference on City Planning at Los Angeles that the Council wished to cooperate with them. Upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman McNulty, there was referred to the { Harbor Committee a letter from the club house committee of the Redwood City Sportsmen's iR Club. This club desires either the privilege of a site at the Harbor or the opportunity to rent a building constructed by the City. Mayor Stafford caused to be read a proposal made to the City by Mr. H. W. Crozier, consulting engineer, in regard to a survey of our harbor possibilities, in which communication he finally made an offer to do the work contemplated for a lump sum of $2,500. Upon motion of Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman MoCarthy, the Mayor was authorized to sign a contract to be drawn up by the City Attorney in line with mr. Crozier's offer. The City Attorney presented affidavits of posting notices of improvement under Resolution of intention N-2 which were ordered filed, upon motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. There were no written protests to this work and no oral protests, although mrs. Johanna Offerman and Frank Rossell expressed opinion that the zoning should have been arranged to lighten somewhat the assessment against their respective properties. Following this, Councilman Hinman, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, offered the following resolution ordering this work, the Extension of Main Street, calling for sealed proposals to be opened April 20:
