I MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL JUNE 6, 1932 $:QO P M Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor Wm J Dusel, H A Beeger, Robert N Jones,; C G Lambert, Paul A McCarthy, Geo W McNulty. City Clerk B E Myers. Absent: Councilman C J Hildebrant. The minutes of the meetings of May 16th and May 23rd were approved, on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman McCarthy. Mr. James B. Rixon asked the Council if anything could be done concerning the disturbance caused by chickens and pigeons located next to him. No action taken. The City Manager submitted a report embodying a tentative budget containing only the summaries of the departmental requirements and a condensed statement. The report was filed and the Council agreed to meet in informak session June 15th to take up the matter in more detail. The Clerk read a copy of a letter written by the City Manager to the Veterans of Foreign Wars' concerning the attitude of the city toward the control or management of Mezes Hall. The letter was ordered filed. Affidavit showing.the publication of Ordinance 336 pertaining to the discharge of waste water on streets was ordered filed, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, following which, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Jones, this ordinance was formally adopted. (Full text on Page 156, of Ordinance Book No. 3) In a letter addressed to the Council, the South Redwood Improvement Club asked to have the strip on Woodside Road repainted. The Clerk was instructed to tell them the matter would be taken care of. At the suggestion of Councilman Hildebrant, who was unable to be present, the Clerk read a letter addressed to Councilman Hildebrant by Hugh R. Israel, who had previously requested permission to build a float at the Harbor with the intention of renting outboard motors. After giving this matter consideration it was decided, on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman Lambert, that Hugh R. Israel and his partner, F.E. Poelman, be granted permission to build a float as requested and to rent outboard motors as outlined in his letter provided the construction was done under the supervision of the City Engineer and that they pay a monthly rate for the use of the berth space and that the permit be revocable at the pleasure of the Council. Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman McNulty, offered for adoption resolution accepting a deed from Mr. and Mrs. McBryde for storm sewer easement to be used in connection with Reservoir #3 particularly described in the deed. Unanimously carried. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Beeger, affidavit for the publishing of the filing of amended street assessment for property covered by Resolution of Intention F—S was filed. On motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Jones, this amended assessment as prepared by the Superintendent of Streets was formally confirmed. In connection with the 1915 Act bonds, Councilman Beeger brought up the point whether or not the city should pay interest on bonds which had been defaulted. After some discussion, it was decided, on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, that the Treasurer be instructed that, effective July 2, 1932, he pay no interest on 1915 -,Act bonds that are in default. w
