116
4
Councilman Jones suggested that a light be placed in front of the Washington School on the
Woodside Road and he was assured that it mould be taken care of.
In regard to the bill presented by Barry Gelbmann in which he asked $29.40 for damages to an
ice machine in December caused by the turning off of water mains, the City Manager ex-
plained that due to an emergency the water had to be shut off and that the ice machine
had been damaged because there was no provision for such an emergency. It was decided
that perhaps it was best to pay this claim but to emphasize to Mr. Gelbmann that he must
protect himself against any further emergency that might arise because the city could not
foresee what might happen. Therefore, on motion of Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Coun-
cilman Y'letcher, the claim was allowed and the Clerk asked to convey the information to
Mr. Gelbmann that if he continues to use the present make of ice machine he would do so at
his own risk.
The departmental reports were ordered filed.
The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Mcllulty, seconded by Councilman
Fletcher.
Adjournment.
BEM:MR
City Clef.
1
I
