152 <br />pass and adopt Ordinance No. 362 fixing and establishing the tax rate of said <br />city for the fiscal year 1935-19369 and <br />WHEREAS, in and by said tax rate so fixed and established, as afore- <br />said, the rate of thirty cents ($.30) upon each one hundred dollars ($100) of <br />the assessed valuation of all property in said City of Redwood City was fixed <br />and established for the payment, principal and interest, of 1915 bonds, due and <br />delinquent of said city, and <br />WHEREAS, the city officials have not as yet computed the taxes levied <br />upon each parcel. of property shown upon -the assessment, roll of said city and <br />that no taxpayers or third persons will be injured in any way by reducing the <br />thirty cent ($.30) levy upon each one hundred dollars ($100) of the assessed <br />valuation of all property in said City of Redwood City for the payment of 1915 <br />bonds, principal and interest, due and delinquent, of said city to ten cents <br />S$.10) instead of the thirty cents ($.30)provided in said ordinance. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood <br />City that the City Clerk (there being no City Auditor) be and he is hereby <br />ordered and directed to compute and carry out the amount of taxes levied on <br />each parcel of property in the assessment roll of said city and in such com- <br />putation to compute for the payment of 1915 bonds, principal and interest, the <br />sum of ten cents ($.10) upon each one hundred dollars ($100) of the assessed <br />valuation of all property in said City of Redwood City instead and in place of <br />the thirty cents ($.30) provided for that purpose in Ordinance No. 362 herein <br />before mentioned. <br />AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Tax Collector of said city be <br />and she is hereby ordered and directed to collect instead of the thirty cents <br />($.30) mentioned hereinabove for the payment of 1915 bonds, principal and <br />interest, due and delinquent, the sum of ten cents ($.10) upon each one hundred <br />dollars ($100) of the assessed valuation of all property in said City of Redwood <br />City as above set forth and provided for. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a <br />regular adjourned meeting thereof held on the 30th day of September, 1935, by <br />the following vote: <br />Ayes and in favor of the passage of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: J. M. Eva, E. A. Fletcher, R. N. Jones, P. A. McCarthy, G. W. <br />. McNulty, C.. G. Lambert. <br />Noes and against the passage of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: None. <br />Absent: Councilman L. C. Christensen. <br />STATEMENT OP RESULT OF ELECTION <br />I, B. E. MYERS, City Clerk of the City of Redwood City, California„ <br />do hereby certify that a special municipal election was duly and regularly <br />held in said City of Redwood City on September 24, 1935, and that the returns <br />of said election have been duly and regularly made, and the result thereof has <br />been duly and regularly canvassed and declared by the City Council of the City <br />of Redwood City on September 30, 1935 (the first Monday after said election),• <br />at the hour of 9 o'clock P.M., at the usual meeting place of said City Council <br />in the City Hall of Redwood City, State of California, and that the following <br />statement is a statement of the result of said election. <br />1. The whole number of votes cast in said City of Redwood City at <br />said special election was 1134- <br />2. The proposition voted upon at said special election was as <br />follows: <br />PROPOSITION: Shall the City of Redwood City incur a bonded <br />indebtedness in the principal sum of $425,000.00 <br />in accordance, with the provisions of the ordinance calling the <br />election at which this proposition is submitted, for the object <br />and purpose of acquiring the following municipal improvement of <br />said City, to -wit: A municipal investment bond fund to be used <br />for the purchase of municipal securities or evidences of debt <br />either of said City of Redwood City or of boroughs or districts <br />therein; including municipal bonds of said City, bonds of BDroughs <br />br'districts therein or any bonds or liens arising out of the <br />construction or acquiring of public improvements by local assess- <br />ment within said municipality? <br />
