21V <br />by law, and the result of said canvass is found to be as hereinafter stated and set <br />forth: <br />IT IS 10;REBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED by the Council of the City <br />of Redwood City, as follows: <br />follows: <br />1. - That the proposition voted upon at said special election was as <br />PROPOSITION: Shall the City of Redwood City incur a bonded indebted- <br />ness in the principal sum of $266,000 in accordance <br />with the provisions of the ordinance calling the election at which <br />this proposition is submitted, for the object and purpose of acquiring <br />the following municipal improvement of said City, to -wit: A municipal <br />harbor for the City of Redwood City near the juncture of Redwood Creek <br />and West Point Slough, including the dredging, deepening, widening and <br />improving of a ship channel in Redwood Creek and San Francisco Bay <br />leading to and connecting with said harbor, a turning basin and dock- <br />ing space appurtenant thereto, lands, rights of way, bulkheads, dikes, <br />wharf; docks,piers, transit shed, warehouse, approach roadway, spur <br />tracks, cargo handling and docking equipment, electric light and power, <br />water supply, fire protection and drainage systems for said harbor,,and <br />other structures, works and properties necessary or convenient for said <br />harbor improvement in order to facilitate navigation and the commerce <br />of Redwood City; the cost and expense of said work of dredging, deepen- <br />ing, widening and improving of said ship channel to be paid in part by <br />said City, not in excess of $94,000, and in part by the United States <br />pursuant to the general plan for the improvement of commerce and navi- <br />gation on'Redwood Creek as set forth in letter of the Chief of Engineers <br />of the United States Army to the Chairman of the Committee on Rivers <br />and Harbors, House of Representatives, dated May 25, 1933, published in <br />House of Representatives Document No. 10, 73d Congress of the United <br />States, First Session; the cost and expense of said, harbor facilities <br />and other works, properties and'structures necessary or convenient <br />therefor to be paid by the City of Redwood.City; provided the United <br />States or any department or agency thereof, including the Federal <br />Emergency Administration of Public Works, may for the sooner comple- <br />tion of said project contribute part of the cost of said municipal <br />improvement? <br />2. - That by said ordinance calling said special election it was provided <br />that for the purposes of said election said City of Redwood City should be divided into <br />eight special election precincts, and that the number of votes cast at said special <br />election in favor of and against said proposition was as follows, to -wit: <br />Number of votes cast in <br />favor of said proposition: <br />1862 <br />Number of votes cast against <br />said proposition: <br />419 <br />3, - That the total number of votes cast at said special election was <br />2391 votes; that the number of votes cast in each precinct for and against said pro- <br />position was as follows: <br />Special Municipal Bond Votes for said Votes against said <br />Election Precinct Number: Proposition: Proposition: <br />1 267 37 <br />2 283 41 <br />3 161 4o <br />4 2o4 80 <br />5 283 59 <br />6 16g 47 <br />7 342 73 <br />9 154 42 <br />i <br />0 <br />
