21V by law, and the result of said canvass is found to be as hereinafter stated and set forth: IT IS 10;REBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, as follows: follows: 1. - That the proposition voted upon at said special election was as PROPOSITION: Shall the City of Redwood City incur a bonded indebted- ness in the principal sum of $266,000 in accordance with the provisions of the ordinance calling the election at which this proposition is submitted, for the object and purpose of acquiring the following municipal improvement of said City, to -wit: A municipal harbor for the City of Redwood City near the juncture of Redwood Creek and West Point Slough, including the dredging, deepening, widening and improving of a ship channel in Redwood Creek and San Francisco Bay leading to and connecting with said harbor, a turning basin and dock- ing space appurtenant thereto, lands, rights of way, bulkheads, dikes, wharf; docks,piers, transit shed, warehouse, approach roadway, spur tracks, cargo handling and docking equipment, electric light and power, water supply, fire protection and drainage systems for said harbor,,and other structures, works and properties necessary or convenient for said harbor improvement in order to facilitate navigation and the commerce of Redwood City; the cost and expense of said work of dredging, deepen- ing, widening and improving of said ship channel to be paid in part by said City, not in excess of $94,000, and in part by the United States pursuant to the general plan for the improvement of commerce and navi- gation on'Redwood Creek as set forth in letter of the Chief of Engineers of the United States Army to the Chairman of the Committee on Rivers and Harbors, House of Representatives, dated May 25, 1933, published in House of Representatives Document No. 10, 73d Congress of the United States, First Session; the cost and expense of said, harbor facilities and other works, properties and'structures necessary or convenient therefor to be paid by the City of Redwood.City; provided the United States or any department or agency thereof, including the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works, may for the sooner comple- tion of said project contribute part of the cost of said municipal improvement? 2. - That by said ordinance calling said special election it was provided that for the purposes of said election said City of Redwood City should be divided into eight special election precincts, and that the number of votes cast at said special election in favor of and against said proposition was as follows, to -wit: Number of votes cast in favor of said proposition: 1862 Number of votes cast against said proposition: 419 3, - That the total number of votes cast at said special election was 2391 votes; that the number of votes cast in each precinct for and against said pro- position was as follows: Special Municipal Bond Votes for said Votes against said Election Precinct Number: Proposition: Proposition: 1 267 37 2 283 41 3 161 4o 4 2o4 80 5 283 59 6 16g 47 7 342 73 9 154 42 i 0
