Upon roll calll the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, W. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, j 0. J. Hildebrant,. C. G. Lambert, P. A. McCartby, G. X. McNulty, Cit; Clerk, B. E. Myers, Absentt Councilman R. N. Jones. The minutes of the meeting of June 5 were approved on motion of Councilman Hildebrant, I seconded by Councilman Beeger. Ulter Markham, representing the Goodwill Industries of Northern California, asked permission to.solicit locally clothing, magazines, etc., which are not being utilized by local organizatioAs. In the discussion reference was made to Mrs. J. E. Baugbn as the head . I of the local welfare work and her desire that all donations be -deed for local relief. The Council expressed its belief in the work being done by the Goodwill Industries but 1 { agreed that local interests should•have preference. On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, Councilman Beeger was asked to confer with Mrs. Baughn In an effort to formulate an arrangement for cooperation between local interests and the Goodwill Industries. Mr. Markham was instructed to consult Mrs. Baughn. Mayor Dusel, having been notified by the Library Board of the expiration of the terms of i office tf N. C. Cummings and S. B. Dole, as members of the Board, re -appointed these two gentlemen to the Board, which action was ratified by the Council on motion of i Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Beeger. I The City Manager presented for the consideration of the Council, a Joint Pole Agreement among the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company, and the City of Redwood City, granting to the City of Redwood City permission to install a two - ,wire circuit on the poles of the Pacific Gas & Electric Company, and the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company*, for the control of the pumps of the Emerald Lake hater system. Councilman McCarthy offered for adoption a Resolution accepting such Agreement and authori- sing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Agreement for and on behalf of the City of ! Redwood City. Seconded by Councilman Hildebrant. Unanimously carried. On motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, the Council approved the I • City Managerfe suggestion that the outside water consumers, exclusive of the Emerald j Lake District, be permitted the 10% discount privilege provided all delinquencies be paid.
