Iti <br />schedule of rates to apply, and price schedule as proposed was adopted on motion of <br />Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Pletcher. <br />Following the acceptance of this water system, the City Manager presented a letter in which <br />he explained that a Mr. Harwood, -operating a water distribution system in Palomar Park, <br />suggested that the City also take over a portion of his system lying below ail elevation <br />of 200 ft. Mr. Dimmitt recommended it, and it was so ordered on motion of Councilman <br />Jones, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />The City Manager submitted a letter in which he recommended that the City buy a new Elgin <br />street sweeper at a net cost to the City of $6,223.50, after making -allowance for the <br />sale of the present sweeper to King City at the agreed price of $1,200. Upon motion <br />of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the City Manager was <br />authorized to proceed as recommended. <br />On motion of Councilman Eva, seconded by Councilman Christensen, claims of Orftck, Palmer & <br />Dahlquist, for $751.45 and $1,705.51 respectively, covering services rendered in <br />connection with the Harbor bond issue and the two 1915 Act Refinancing Bond issues <br />were approved and ordered paid. <br />Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Counciiman Eva, proposed the adoption of resolution urging <br />the State Highway Commission to continue the present widening of E1 Camino Real to the <br />southerly limits of San Mateo County. Carried. <br />A letter from Mr. -A. T. Mercier; of the Southern Pacific Company, was read, but no action <br />was taken. The Clerk was asked to request Mr. Mercier to have a representative attend <br />the special meeting of the Council, Monday night, April 26. <br />It was asked whether or not the City should employ Ernest Wilson, of San Mateo, at a cost of <br />$250 to prepare an ordinance making it possible for the City to charge the Pacific Gas & <br />Electric Company a franchise. Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Eva, <br />seemed to be in favor of this, and proposed that the Council authorize it. Upon roll <br />call, the motion carried with Councilmen Pletcher, Rohn and McNulty voting °Nos. It <br />was decided, for the sake of harmony, that perhaps it would be best to rescind the <br />motion, and this was done on motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman <br />Eva, and the City Attorney was asked to write Mr. Wilson for further information. <br />The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman <br />Fletcher. <br />Adjournment to Monday, April 26, 1937, at B o'clock p.m. <br />BEM: MR <br />I'L <br />City Clerk <br />287, <br />
