N,1
"Re: Redwood City Harbor, P. W. A. Project No. Calif. 1445-2D.
I have this day made final inspection of the accessory construction
to the Wharf and Transit Shed at Redwood City Harbor by W. 0. Tyson,
contractor, and find all work completed in accordance with the plans
and specifications to my entire satisfaction.°
On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, it was decided to
increase the contribution to the American Red Cross from $75 to $100, and the
treasurer was instructed to make up claim and warrant accordingly.
There came up again discussion of the question of removing two oak trees from the
circular park at the intersection of broadway, Arch, and Brewster. Councilman
Eva again moved that these two trees be taken out of the park because they inter-
fered with the growth of a cedar tree. His motion was seconded by Councilman
McNulty and upon vote was carried.
Adjournment.
BEM:HAS
MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 15r 1937
5:00 P. M.
Upon roll call the following Councilmen were present:
City C
Councilmen L. C. Christensen,
J. M. Eva, E. A. Fletcher, Wm. Hohn, R. N. Jones, G. W. McNulty, Mayor Paul A.
McCarthy, and City Clerk B. E. Myers.
The minutes of the meeting of November 1 and special meeting of November 5 were approved
on motion of Councilman Christensen, seconded by Councilman Hohn.
Mr. Julius Smith appeared before the Council and talked on three subjects, namely;
1. Whether or not the City could do anything.about the amount of taxes levied
within the city limits by San Mateo County,,
2. Whether or not the City would like to reconsider taking over the present
school property on Broadway, and
3. Protesting the City assessment on the property at the northeast corner of
Arguello and Broadway. Mr. Smith considered it altogether too high.
The question of the county tax was laid over until the next meeting. No action
was taken about the old school building, but on his third point Mr. Smith was
asked to write a letter concerning the assessment to the City Assessor, upon
receipt of which the City Assessor could make a report to the Council.
The question of extension and paving of Valota Road again came up for discussion, and
it was finally decided on motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman
Eva, that if Mrs. Pinotti did not by next Monday, November 22, come to some
agreement about the right-of-way through her land, the City Attorney be authorized
'347
