MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />April 19, 1939 <br />5:00 P. M. <br />Upon roll <br />call <br />the <br />following Councilmen were <br />present: <br />Councilmen L. <br />C. Christensen, <br />I J. M. <br />Eva, <br />E. <br />A. Fletcher, Wm. Hohn, R. <br />N. Jones, <br />G. W. McNulty, <br />Mayor Paul A. <br />McCarthy, and City Clerk B. E. Myers. <br />The minutes of the meeting of April 4 were approved on motion of Councilman Fletcher, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones. <br />S. J. Tyson of Heffel's Bakery, 3159 Mission Street, San Francisco, asked to have his <br />license reduced from $25 per year, claiming that it was more than that paid by <br />certainother trucks entering Redwood City and considerably more than the business <br />will justify. Although considerable discussion ensued, no action was taken to <br />relieve the situation. <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Christensen, the Council approved <br />the applications and granted restaurant licenses to Alexander Beltramo, 2345 Middle- <br />field Road, and Martin Wynne, 2321 El Camino Real. <br />As requested in a letter to the Council, the firm of Grant and Hoffmann.was granted a 60 <br />day extension of time from May 1 in which to complete the contract for the paving <br />of Hillview Avenue. This on motion of Councilman McNulty and Councilman Fletcher. <br />The City Collector submitted the following letter to the Council: <br />"On April 9, 1935, I was authorized by Councilman Eva to <br />accept $175.69 for delinquent city taxes and street work <br />on the following property instead of $207.13 as was actually <br />due if the amount was paid in full: <br />Lots 19, 20, 21, 22 in Block 2, Resub of Lot 45 <br />Reese Tract (Arb. 241/10/11/12/13) <br />Assessed to L. F. Lewis. <br />The segregation is as follows: <br />Delinquent Taxes <br />Delinquent Weed Tax <br />Delinquent Bond J-14 <br />Current Taxes ) <br />Current Bond J-14 ) <br />Bond J-14 (not yet due) <br />Resolution M-5 <br />Penalty & Cost <br />$ 49.10 <br />7.72 <br />62.55 <br />15.10 <br />6.74 <br />20.00 <br />45.59 <br />$207.13 <br />On April 12, 1935, a check was received in the amount of $175.69. <br />Will you please confirm the above authorization?" <br />On motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, the authorization <br />requested was given. <br />r, <br />The Building Inspector filed with the Council the following letter: <br />"There is a frame dwelling on the NWA of Lot 5 Block 5, in <br />Oak Knoll Manor, known as 235 Hillview Ave. which is in a <br />dilapidated and insanitary condition and should be condemned <br />and demolished. <br />This dwelling was built before our present building ordinance <br />and could not be repaired or added to under present regulations. <br />Permission is respectfully requested to have this building <br />demolished. <br />Arb.
