M <br />1 <br />Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed the adoption of <br />the following resolution. Carried. <br />"RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, that in conformity <br />with Chapter 397 of the Statutes of 1931 of the State of California, with amend- <br />ments thereto and other laws, that the minimum compensation to be paid for any <br />skilled or unskilled laborfor work to be <br />performed in the improvement of Nevada Street under Resolution of Intention <br />No. 1938-4, passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City on <br />the 18th day of July, 1939, and in the improvement of Quartz Street and Ave- <br />nue del Ora under Resolution of Intention No. 1938-5, passed and adopted by <br />the Council of the City of Redwood City on the 9th day of August, 1939, both <br />of which Resolutions of Intention are now on file in the office of the City <br />Clerk of the City of Redwood City and to which reference is hereby made and <br />the same are made a part hereof, shall be not less than specified as follows: <br />The foregoing schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of <br />eight hours, except as otherwise noted. The hourly wage rate prescribed here- <br />inabove is the per diem rate divided by the aforementioned number of hours <br />constituting a working day. <br />The above schedule of wage rates is the general prevailing rate of per <br />diem wages for wort: of a similar character in the locality in which the work <br />described above is to be performed. <br />Rates for legal holidays and Sundays shall be double the rate hereinabove <br />described. <br />Rates for over -time shall be one and one-half (1wl) times the rates here- <br />inabove described." <br />On motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, Sante Panga, 2303 <br />E1 Camino Real Real, was Pranted a restaurant license. <br />Mr. I. J.
