D _Special Municipal Election held on September 27, 1938. Following this, Council— man McCarthy, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, proposed the adoption of the follow— ing resolution: Carried. "DECLARING CANVASS OF RETURNS, AND RESULT OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL BOND ELECTION HELD SEPTEMBER 27, 1938. "'WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City by Ordinance No. 41.3 duly called and ordered held in said City of Redwood City an election on the 27th day of September, 1938, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters and electors thereof the following propositions, to wit: PROPOSITION No. l: Shall the City City Hall of Redwood Impmremeats City incur a bonded in- debtedness in the principal sum of $52,000 in accordance - with the provisions of the ordi= mance calling the election at which this proposition is sub- mitted, for the object and pur- pose of acquiring, constructing and completing the following municipal improvement, to wit: Additions and betterments to the existing City Hall to pro- vide additional facilities for housing city offices, including improvement of the grounds and 'all furniture, fixtures, ap. paratus, equipment and other works, properties and struc- tures necessary or convenient for City Hall purposes? PROPOSITION No. 2: Shall the City Llkm of Redwood City incur a bonded indebtedness in the principal sum of $45,000 in ac. cordance with the provisions of the ordinance calling the election at which this proposi- tion is submitted, for the object and purpose of acquiring, con. structing and completing the following municipal improve. ment, to wit: A new main li. brary building, including im. provement of the grounds, all furniture, fixtures, apparattis and other works, properties and structures necessary or convenient for a public library for the City of Redwood City? AND 'WHEREAS, said ordinance calling and ordering said election was duly published as required by law and by said ordinance, as appears from the affi— davit of Bernice Gardner on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Redwood City; and 'WHEREAS, it appears that said special election was held in accordance with law and with said call, on the said 27th -day of September, 1938, as afore— said, and that the polls for said election,were kept open during the time re— quired by law, and that said election was held and conducted, and the votes thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascertained, deter— mined and declared, all as provided by the laws of the State of California, and by said ordinance; and 'WHEREAS, on this day, to wit, Monday, the 3d day of October, 1938, at the hour of eight o'clock P.
