454 <br />That the total number of votes cast at such election for and against each <br />of said propositions voted upon, including the foregoing absentee votes, was as <br />follows: <br />Tota] Vote For: Total Vote Against <br />Proposition No., 1 { <br />(City Hall Improvements) 1683 370 <br />Proposition No. 2 (Library) 1679 359 <br />5. - That more than two-thirds of all of the votes cast at said special <br />election were in favor of said Proposition No. 1, (City Hall Improvements) and <br />authorized the incurring of a bonded debt for the purpose set forth in said <br />Proposition No. 1, and that said Proposition No. 1 carried. That more than <br />two-thirds of all of the votes cast at said special election were in favor of <br />said Proposition No. 2, (Library) and authorized the incurring of a bonded debt <br />for the purpose set forth in said Proposition No. 2, and that said Proposition <br />No. 2 carried. <br />That the City Clerk of the City of Redwood City be, and is hereby, instructed <br />to enter this resolution on the minutes of this Council as a statement of the re- <br />sult of said election." <br />CLERK'S CERTIFICATE <br />"I, B. E. MYERS, City Clerk of the City of Redwood City, California, do <br />hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of a resolu- <br />tion duly adopted at regular meeting of the Council of said'City duly and regular- <br />ly held at the regular meeting place thereof on the 3rd day of October, 1938, of <br />which meeting all of the members of said Council had due notice and at which a <br />majority thereof was present; that at said meeting said.resolution was intro- <br />duced by Councilman P. A. McCarthy and read in full and was thereupon, upon motion <br />of Councilman P. A. McCarthy, seconded by Councilman E. A. Fletcher, adopted by <br />the following vote: <br />Ayes: H. F. Anderson, E. A. Fletcher, Wm. Hohn, R. N. Jones, , <br />P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, Louis C. Christensen <br />Noes: None. <br />Absent: None. <br />That I have carefully compared the same with the original minutes of said <br />meeting on file and of record in my office and that said resolution is duly <br />entered of record in Book 17 of Minutes at pages 451 to 454, inclusive, and said <br />resolution is a full, true and correct copy of the original resolution adopted <br />at said meeting and entered in said minutes. That said resolution has not been <br />amended, modified or rescinded since the date of its adoption and the same is <br />now in full force and effect. <br />WITNESS my hand and the seal of said City of Redwood City this 4th day of <br />October, 1938." <br />B. E. MYERS <br />City Clerk of the City of Redwood <br />City, California. <br />Following this, there was ordered filed the following statement: <br />"STATEMENT OF RESULT OF ELECTION <br />"I, B. E. MYERS, City Clerk of the City of Redwood City, California, do <br />hereby certify that a special municipal election was duly and regularly held <br />in said City of Redwood City on September 27, 1938, and that the returns of <br />said special municipal election have been duly and regularly made, and the <br />result thereof has been duly and regularly canvassed and declared by the <br />Council of the City of Redwood City on October 3, 1938, at the hour of eight <br />o'clock P. M., at the usual meeting place of said Council in said City, and <br />that the following statement is a statement of the result of said election. <br />
