Port Manager Murphy, supplemented by the City Manager, reported concerning con-
dition on Harbor Boulevard opposite the Plant Rubber and Asbestos Works due
to a cloud of vapor which makes it impossible to pass that particular section
of the roadway with unimpaired vision. It was explained that the condition
was quite hazardous and that some pressure should be put on the company to
eliminate it. It was accordingly decided, on motion of Councilman McCarthy,
seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the City Clerk, aided by the City
Manager, formulate a letter to the company to impress upon the management
the imperative need of eliminating this hazard. It was also suggested that
copies of the letter be sent to the District Attorney and to the Sheriff.
The approved claims were ordered paid on motion of Councilman McNulty, seconded
by Councilman Anderson.
Adjournment to November 2, 1938, 8 o'clock P. M.
i . . %t„ aAJ
City Clerk
