466 <br />City reserves the right to reject any and all bids. <br />The legal opinion of Messrs. Orrick, Dahlquist, Neff & Herrington, <br />of San Francisco, California, approving the validity of said bonds, will be <br />furnished to the successful bidder without charge. <br />Said bonds were authorized at an election held on September 27, 1938, <br />and will be issued in accordance with Ordinance No. 14114 of the City of Redwood <br />City, reference to which is hereby made and to the proceedings now on file in <br />the office of the City Clerk. <br />The City of Redwood City was incorporated in 1967. The population <br />(Census of 1930) was 8962; the present conservative estimate is 13,000. The <br />assessed valuation of all taxable property in said City for the fiscal year <br />19391939 is $i14,5 3,120.00, and the total bonded indebtedness (not including <br />this issue) is $73,1141.714. Further information relative to the financial <br />condition of the City will be furnished to any bidder upon recuest. <br />This notice is given pursuant to Resolution of the Council of the City <br />of Redwood City adopted November 2, 1939- <br />B. E. Myers <br />City Clerk of the City of Redwood <br />City, California. <br />Section 3. That the said City Clerk be, and he is hereby, authorized and <br />directed to mail Notice of Sale of said bonds to the State Treasurer and to the <br />Department of Finance of the State of California, at Sacramento, California. <br />Section 14. This resolution shall take effect immediately. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by vote of seven members of the Council of the City of <br />Redwood City, this 2nd day of November, 1938, by the following vote: <br />Ayes: H. F. Anderson, E. A. Fletcher, Wm. Hohn, R. N. Jones, <br />P. A. McCarthy, G. W. McNulty, L. C. Christensen. <br />Noes: None. <br />Absent: None. <br />L. C. MYERS, City Clerk of the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, California, do <br />hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of a <br />resolution duly adopted at an adjourned meeting of the Council of the said City <br />duly and regularly held at the regular meeting place thereof on the 2nd day of <br />November, 1939, of which meeting all of the members of said Council had due <br />notice and at which a majority thereof was present; that at said meeting said <br />resolution was introduced by Councilman McCarthy and read in full and was <br />thereupon, upon motion of Councilman McCarthy seconded by Councilman Fletcher, <br />adopted by the following vote: <br />.
