Fixt. <br />PWA 1992-F <br />Dear Mr. Dimmitt: <br />A careful comparison has been made of the bids received for <br />Light.ing.Fixtures and the substitute fixtures proposed. Mirrored glass reflectors were specified. <br />The'fixtures proposed -for the Main Reading Rooms are 4 3/4" <br />less in diameter than specified and too small in scale for the rooms. <br />In general the design of the fixtures is not as attractive <br />as those specified and would not be as harmonious in their relation- <br />ship to the rooms. I do not consider the fixtures good looking. <br />The fixtures are listed in the bids for principal rooms on <br />a unit basis at one-half the cost of thoaQ specified. It is diffi- <br />cult to conceive that these are equal to those specified in the <br />quality of material and workmanship. <br />
