8 <br />D. L. Walter asked the Board for some consideration in the payment of the delinquent weed <br />assessment on considerable property on which the taxes were also delinquent indicating <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 5, 193+ <br />9:00 O�CLOCK, <br />Upon roll call, the following Councilmen were present: Mayor, W. J. Dusel, H. A. Beeger, <br />C. J. Hildebrant, R. N. Jones, C. G. Lambert, Paul A. McCarty, Geo. W. McNulty. City <br />Clerk, B. E. Myers. Absent: None. <br />The minutes of the meeting of January 15 were approved on motion of Councilman Beeger, seconded <br />by Councilman Hildebrant. <br />A. J. Dempsey, representing the Council of the War Veterans, asked if the Council would care <br />•;a <br />to permit them to rent the present building to the Order of Moose. No action was taken <br />other than to refer the matter to the City Manager to see how it would affect other building <br />organizations in Redwood City. <br />D. L. Walter asked the Council to rezone Lots 11 and 12, Block 529 Eastern Addition, and to <br />a <br />grant him a permit to build and operate a service station on that corner, being Middlefield <br />Road and Chestnut Street. On motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, <br />the City Attorney was instructed to prepare an ordinance showing these two lots rezoned for <br />3 <br />a service station. <br />Affidavit of the Tribune showing publication of Gas Appliance Ordinance was ordered filed. On <br />motion of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman McNulty, this Gas Appliance Ordinance <br />was adopted unanimously. (Full text will be found in Ordinance Book 3, Page -171.) <br />The City Attorney presented a Release signed by Andrew and Elisa Jacobsen in which they released <br />the City of Redwood Oity and Officer, W. H. Thorpe, from all claims arising out of the <br />automobile accident on the 25th 5 day of February, 1933. He suggested that a warrant be <br />drmm in the name of these persons for $49.95 in satisfaction for whatever claims they might <br />have. So ordered on motion of Councilman Lambert, seconded by Councilman McNulty. <br />Resolution accepting an Easement from Mark and Cannie Casner was unanimously adopted on motion <br />of Councilman Hildebrant, seconded by Councilman Lambert. <br />The City Attorney asked the opinion of the Board whether or not to use the names furnished by <br />? <br />the County or to advertise for officials for the coming election. He was told that the <br />{ <br />Council concurred in his suggestion that such officials be obtained by advertising for <br />applications. <br />In view of the petition to the County Board of Supervisors that the Woodside Road from the top <br />of the grade down to the Menlo Country Club be straightened and improved, Councilman <br />xBeeger <br />suggested that the City do something to have included in the project, if and when <br />it were decided, that strip of the Woodside Road beginning at the top of the grade down to <br />Five Points. He moved, seconded by Councilman Hildebrant, that the City Manager and City <br />Engineer be appointed as a committee to confer with the Chamber of Commerce and with the <br />Board of Supervisors to enlist their support for such an improvement of the Woodside Road <br />within the City limits.
