U� <br />-Mr. S. A. Cottrell, 1318 Jefferson Avenue, presented petition signed by seventeen of <br />his neighbors requesting the City Council .allow him to display for the duration <br />a sign announcing his business of radio repairman. On motion of Councilman <br />Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty., matter would be dropped from the agenda <br />until such time.it may again arise. <br />PJir. Sidney R. Hull, 1723 Hopkins Avenue, requested permission to rent small apartment <br />over his garage to a member of the United Airline personnel. On motion of <br />Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman Fletcher, permission was granted <br />subject to revocation at the will of the Council and for the duration only. Under <br />the question, Councilman Armstrong explained that he would vote in favor of the <br />motion only because the structure in question was constructed, but wished to go <br />on record as opposed to erection of such construction in the first residential <br />area. Motion carried. <br />Mr. A. N. Patterson, representing Mr. M. Flynn, requested that 30 or .35 -feet be <br />eliminated from the fire zone bordering El Camino Real in the vicinity of Vera <br />Avenue. After considerable discussion, City Manager Mead .was requested to pre— <br />pare a sketch showing the present fire lines in the. area under discussion. <br />City Manager Mead reported that licenses were being collected from professional men <br />such as dentists, doctors and musicians in the first and second residential <br />districts. <br />City Manager Mead reported that scrap pile had been removed from Jefferson Avenue and <br />that County JEngineer Grant stated that they would clean up the lot next to the <br />Corporation Yard in the near future.. <br />On motion of Councilman Anderson, seconded by Councilman McNulty, affidavit of <br />publication covering proposed annexation of Red Feather Products property was <br />ordered filed. <br />Councilman Fletcher offered introduction of Red Feather Products property annexation <br />ordinance, seconded by Councilman Anderson. Carried on roll call. <br />4cA-Affidavit of publication covering subdivision ordinance was ordered filed on motion of <br />-yA4 <br />Councilman.Anderson, seconded by Councilman Armstrong. <br />Councilman McNulty offered adoption of subdivision ordinance, seconded by Councilman <br />Armstrong, Carried on roll call. <br />Proposed ordinance covering sale of electrical appliances was ordered placed on the <br />agenda for the next meeting to allow City Attorney McCarthy to furnish Councilmen <br />with information on changes in the original proposed ordinance. <br />motion of Councilman Fletcher, seconded by Councilman Anderson, affidavit of <br />publication of ordinance fixing tax rate was ordered filed.
