Motion <br />passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from H.fD;,% Hickeri Chief of Bureau, Department of Ed- <br />ucation, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, Sacramento, asking for coopera- <br />tion in the establishment of vending stands in public buildings to be operated <br />by the blind. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Anderson, <br />that the communication be referred to the City Manager with instructions that <br />he extend what aid is possible to the agency. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from M. Weber asking for an extension of ten days time <br />to complete work under Resolutions of Intention 1945-3 and 1945-4. City Man- <br />ager Blom reported that this request had been made on December 7, 1945, and <br />that the actual contract had been completed on December 10, 1945, with the <br />exception of a very small amount of clean-up work which had been done on Deo - <br />ember 11, 1945. He advised that the work met with the approval of the City <br />Engineering.Department and recommended that the contract be declared properly <br />completed on December 11, 1945. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by <br />Oouncilman'Anderson, that on the advice of the City Englneering•Department-and <br />reoommended- that -the contract -be --declared -properly -complete on December -11 <br />1.945..._ -Councilman -k mistrong -moved;-. seconded by Councilman Anderson.,.. -that on <br />the-advice-of--the-Gity✓Manager that the contract be accepted no action be taken <br />in regard to this communication and the contract be accepted as duly completed <br />on December 11, 1945. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Communication was received from Reuben W. Frank of the Redwood Cab Company request- <br />ing an additional cab permit. City Attorney McCarthy advised that he and City <br />Manager Blom had completed a draft of the proposed taxicab ordinance which <br />would be presented later in the meeting and this communication was held over <br />until after discussion of this ordinance. <br />Bids were received for furnishing new fire apparatus and for the purchase of used <br />fire equipment.
