27'
The application of Vincent Guida in behalf of John McCarthy to subdivide
Blocks A and B, Oak Villa Homestead to permit the building of two dwellings
was approved by the Planning Commission with the restrictions that this owner
or any subsequent owner be permitted to build only a single house on each of
the two, lots on Lincoln Avenue, the houses on these lots to be subject to the
approval of the City Building Inspector as to their erection, the house on_
the corner lot on Hudson and Lincoln Avenue to be faced on Hudson Street.
City Attorney McCarthy advised that notices have not been sent to the adjoining
' property owners in this area and that after the map has been filed it will be
necessary for it to be referred to the City Engineer to see if it complies. with
the sub4ivision ordinance. Councilman Armstrong moved, sedonded by Councilman
McNulty, that the matter be placed on the agenda of the next meeting to allow,
time for the map to be filed with'the City Engineer. The motion passed unani-
mously.
Communication was received from Mrs. N. L. Miramontes, advising that on March 5, 1o45,
City Manager Robert W. Mead, Councilmen George W. McNulty and Carl Britachgi,
recommended that the City of Redwood City accept from the County of San Mateo
$1200 for the sale of Lots 11-12, Block 9 and Lot 10, Block 9, New High School
Acres, The County of San Mateo submitted a check in the sum of $1144,20 for
the sale of this lot which was the city's share after deducting county taxes.
' The delinc_uent taxes, weed abatement°and bond assessments under "Act of 19151,
amount to $3120.09, and the City Collector requested that bond assessments in
the amount of $1975-89 be cancelled. Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded
by Councilman Britachgi, that the Council authorize the cancellation of bond
assessments in excess of the city's equity and accept the pro rata from the
county. The motion passed unanimously.
Notice of meeting of the Peninsula Division of the League of California Cities was
• read and those councilmen planning to attend so signified. _
Mr. R: F. Martin of the Redwood City Bus Line appeared bef$re the Council advising
that he was submitting to the Railroad Commission an application for a new
bus route, which would run t1rough Redwood City, Menlo Park, Atherton and into
Palo Alto. The hearing comes up before the Railroad Commission on June 29,
1945, and he asked that the City of Redyiood City support his application by
' sending a representative to the hearing. Councilman Armstrong asked if the
new route would curtail the present service to Redwood City. Mr. Martin out-
lined the new route and advised that it would curtail no service now rendered
to Redwood City but would be an addition to that already given and that he
was expecting delivery of three new buses at the end of the month. Mr. Martin
advised that he was having some difficulty with the Palo Alto Bus Line in regard
to the proposed route through Menlo Park but that the Pacific Greyhoinfid was in
favor of the new schedule.
