Councilman Granger offered resolution and moved adoption calling for <br />special election on April 5th, 1949, for the purpose of providing additional funds <br />for the construction of the Sewage Disposal Plant, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, <br />and carried on roll call. Councilmen Swift and Mayor Werder noted absent. Morgan <br />had returned. ' <br />RESOLUTION No. 670 <br />RESOLUTION DETEPJ41NING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY DEMAND THE <br />ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF THE <br />FOLLOWING MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT, TO WIT: COMPLETION OF SEWAGE DISPOSAL PRO- <br />JECT; DETERMINING THAT THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND C014PLETION OF SAID <br />MUNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT IS NECESSARY AND CONVENIENT TO CARRY OUT THE OBJECTS, <br />PURPOSES AND POWERS OF SAID CITY; AND DETERMINING THAT THE COST OF THE <br />ACQUISTION, CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF SAID 14UNICIPAL IMPROVEMENT IS <br />AND WILL BE T06 GREAT TO BE PAID OUT OF THE ORDINARY ANNUAL INCOME AND <br />REVENUE OF SAID CITY. <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, as follows: <br />Section 1. That the public interest and necessity demand the acquistion, <br />construction and completion by the City of Redwood City of the following municipal <br />improvement, to -wit: <br />Completion of sewage disposal project, including sewage treatment plant, <br />intercepting and collecting sewers, land, easements, rights-of-way, and <br />other works, property or structures necessary or convenient to complete <br />the sewage disposal project of the City of Redwood City. <br />Section 2. That the acquisition, construction and completion of said municipal <br />improvement is necessary and convenient to carry out the objects, purposes and powers <br />of said City. <br />Section 3. That the cost of the acquistion, construction and completion of <br />said municipal improvement is and will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary <br />annual income and revenue of said City. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of February, 1949, by the following vote: <br />AYES, Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLXQUIST, MORGAN, and SPILLERS. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />ATTEST: <br />RALPH S. WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER BROUGHT UP THE QUESTION OF THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE PARKING METER <br />RECEIPTS, suggesting that 75% be set aside for off-street parking. Study was to <br />be made and report rendered at the next meeting. <br />C NUO CILMAN BRITSCHGI SUGGESTED the wall map in the Council Chamber be brought up to <br />date for the purpose of convenient reference. <br />
