WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />PURCHASE OF TWO AUTOMOBILES,.ONE FOR FIRE CHIEF, AND ONE FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT to replace <br />two 1942 Dodges. It was recommended by both department heads and the City Manager <br />that two Chrysler Royals be purchased. The Nash bid was lower by $9.06 but the ' <br />Chrysler had a higher rating in horsepower, larger tires, fluid drive, larger capa- <br />city battery with 40 ampere generator and shieglded ignition, an important factor <br />in operation of radio transmitters and receivers which would be installed in these <br />vehicles. After discussion Councilman Holmquist moved acceptance of City Manager ' <br />Rolison's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried on roll call. <br />Councilman Spillers voting No-. Councilman Shrift noted absent. <br />USE OF CITY CARS FOR PRIVATE USE. Councilman Granger moved that City Manager Rolison <br />instruct all employees that City cars were'not for personal use, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Spillers, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI INQUIRED IF CITY MANAGER ROLISON had thought of someone to succeed <br />the Chief of Police when he retired or resigned. City Manager Rolison stated he <br />had given it some thought and would be prepared to make such appointment when the <br />time came. <br />TRANSFER OF FUNDS WAS NECESSARY FOR PURCHASE OF POLICE CAR. Councilman Granger offered <br />resolution and moved adoption authorizing transfer of $639.71 from Unbudgeted <br />Reserve.to Police Capital Outlay, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried on <br />roll call.. These buildings had been inspected by Fire, <br />Building & Health at 18 and 20 Diller Street, Lot 3, Block 13, Diller Addition, <br />and 1401 El Camino Real, Lots 8 & 9, Block 13 Diller Addition. Mr. Harold <br />S <br />Anderson had contacted City Attorney Currie with a request that this be continued <br />
