<br />Redwood City Council

<br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen Floyd D. Gragger, H. E. Holmquist, A. H. Morgan,Jr.,
<br />R. V. Spillers,A.V.Swift and City Clerk R. S.Dodge. Also present were City Manager E.A.Rolison,
<br />City Attorney C.B. Currie, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain,Administrative Assistant Richard D.Miller,
<br />and Pqlice Chief C. L.Collins. Councilman Britschgi and Mayor Warder noted absent.
<br />THE HEARING ON RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 707 FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF THAT AREA WITHIN THE CITY OF REDWOOD
<br />"CITY COMMONLY KNOWN AS KENSINGTON SQUARE, by constructing and installing certain public improvements
<br />therein, was opened at eight otclock P.M. at the City Hall, Redwood City,California.
<br />THE AFFIDAVIT OF RALPH S. DODGE, CITY CLERK. RELATIVE TO MAILING NOTICES OF THE ADOPTION OF SAID RESOLUTION
<br />OF INTENTION NO. 707 and notices of the time of this hearing was ordered filed on motion of Council-
<br />man Morgan, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
<br />THE AFFIDAVIT OF GLENN M.JAIN, SUPERINTENDENT OF STREETS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATIVE TO POSTING
<br />NOTICES OF IMPROVEMENT AS REQUIRED BY SAID RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 707, was ordered filed on
<br />motion of Councilman Holmquist, seconded by CouneilmanSwift and carried.
<br />THE AFFIDAVIT OF LuVERNE H. HAMLIN, RELATIVE TO THE PUBLICATION OF SAID RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 70719
<br />in the form and for the period as required by law, was ordered filed on motion of Councilman Holm-
<br />quist, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried.
<br />ACTING MAYOR GRANGER then inquired if any written protests had been filed with the Clerk. The Clerk
<br />reported that two written protests had been filed with him prior to the time set for the hearing
<br />and then read in full all protests filed by Marjorie Herron and Mrs. E. H. Constance Hart, owners
<br />of property proposed to be assessed for improvements in Kensington Square, whose addressed and the
<br />property which they own is hereinafter set opposite thik names:

<br />THE ACTING MAYOR THEN ASKED IF ANYONE PRESENT DESIRED TO BE HEARD FROM THE FLOOR. No verbal protests were
<br />made from the floor. All protestants having been heard and an opportunity having been given to all
<br />persons desiring to be heard, and a fair and impartial hearing having been granted, and the City -
<br />Council having before them full and complete information as to the proposed work to be done, the
<br />extent of the district proposed to be assessed therefor, and the estimated cost of the proposed
<br />improvement, and also having considered all written protests or objections filed, and having given
<br />attention to all verbal protests from the floor, there being none, the hearing on protests against
<br />the improvements proposed in Resolution of Intention No. 707 was declared closed, on motion of
<br />Councilman Holmquist, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and duly carried.
<br />ON MOTION OF COUNCILMAN MORGAN, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN SWIFT, AND DULY CARRIED. ALL PROTESTS -AND OBJECTIONS
<br />AGAINST THE PROPOSED WORK OR AGAINST THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED THEREFOR IN ACCORDANCE
<br />with Resolution of Intention No. 707, were duly overruled and denied.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 715, ENTITLED "RESSOLUTION ORDERING IMPROVEMENTS AND CALLING FOR BIDS, KENSINGTON SQUARE NO.
<br />1 1948-2" was offered to the Council on motion of Councilman S illers seconded b Councilman Mor an
