Question of 43 t <br />time was brought by Councilman Britschgi in regard to assurance that job would be <br />completed in specified time. It was the general opinion that there would be no time <br />extension granted. Mr. Smith appeared and stated that he was a responsible bidder and <br />thought that things which happened on other jobs would not happen on this one. Coun- <br />cilman Spillers offered resolution and moved adoption awarding bid to L. C. Smith at <br />x`6,885.28 and carried on roll call. Councilman Granger thought the bonding company <br />should be notified there would be no extension of time. <br />RESOLUTION No. 845 <br />RESOLUTION AWARD CONTRACT <br />LAUREL STREET <br />WHEREAS the Council of the City of Redwood City did, in open session, on March 6, <br />1950, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing all <br />the work and making all the improvements described in Resolution of Intention No. 819 <br />of said Council, passed and adopted by said Council on January 169 1950, to which <br />resolution reference is hereby made for further particulars; <br />BE IT RESOLVED that said Council of the City of Redwood City hereby rejects all <br />said proposals or bids except that next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the con- <br />tract for doing said work and making said improvements to the lowest, regular, respon- <br />sible bidder, to wit: L. C. SMITH COMPANY, a corporation, at the prices named in its <br />bid, to which bid reference is hereby made for further particulars. <br />The'City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this award in the Redwood <br />City Tribune, a daily newspaper (except Sunday), published, printed and circulated in <br />said City of Redwood City, and hereby designated for that purpose by the Council of <br />said City. I • . <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting <br />thereof, held on the 6th day of March, 1950, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution, <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SPILLERS, SWIFT, AND WERDER. <br />NOES.9 <br />ABSENT, <br />ATTEST: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />RALPH S.
