<br />I AWARD OF BID FOR COMMUNITY PARK SWIMMING POOL. City Engineer Jain recommended Hedahl-
<br />Martin, low bidder, subject to availability of funds. The bid was approximately

<br />16,000 over the architect's estimate. Mr. Jain stated in recommendation that his
<br />office was advised that approximately $5,900 was available in the postwar funds,
<br />approximately 666,435.82 in 194 Bond Funds and $1,200 would be available from the
<br />State as Chapter 47 Funds (Christmas Tree money), leaving a balance of approximately
<br />$8,564.18 necessary to be made up from other sources, unless deletions or substitution
<br />of less costly materials could be made in the project. City Attorney Currie's opinion
<br />was that no deductions could be made or agreed upon before the contract was signed.
<br />Councilman Spillers moved recommendation of City Engineer Jain be accepted and that
<br />the necessary additional funds be raised on next year's tax rate, seconded by Coun-
<br />cilman Royer and carried.
<br />RESOLUTION No. 869. THE REAL ESTATE COP,MITTEE REPORTED regarding the proposed purchase
<br />of Lots 23 and 24, Block 42, Central Park, from Mr. Lois Montgomery. Councilman
<br />Spillers reported that he and Councilman Werder had met with Mrs. Montgomery and she
<br />still asked for $4,000, and they so recommended as they thought the property was
<br />worth this. Councilman Morgan offered resolution and moved adoption accepting deed
<br />at $4000, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call.

<br />ACCEPTING DEED TO LOTS 23 and 24, BLOCK 42,
<br />CENTRAL PARK
<br />RESOLVED by the Council of Redwood City as follows:
<br />1. That certain deed wherein Lois J. Montgomery is named as Grantor and the
<br />City of Redwood City is named as Grantee is hereby accepted by said City, said deed
<br />conveying to the City of Redwood City all the following described real property:
<br />The real property situated in the City of Redwood City, County of
<br />San Mateo, State of California, described as follows:
<br />Lots 23 and 24 in Block 42, as shown on that certain map entitled
<br />"Map.No. 2 OF CENTRAL PARD, REDWOOD CITY, SAN MATEO COUNTY", which
<br />map was filed in the office of the Recorder of the County of San
<br />Mateo, State of California, on July 20, 1912 in Book 8 of Maps of
<br />at pages 15 and 16.
<br />2. The sum of Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) is hereby authorized to be
<br />expended as the purchase price for the above described real property.
<br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular
<br />meeting thereof, held on the 15th day of May, 1950, by the following vote:
