REPORT OF TEEN AGE CENTER, RECREATION BUILDING, BY ALFRED MORTON, DIRECTOR, was read 71 <br />and filed. Cash and Stock 11/30/48, $658.32, less Bills Payable $155.99, 0502.33 - <br />APPLICATIONS FOR RESTAURANT LICENSES ON THE FOLLOWING WERE PRESENTED: <br />Erna's, 626 El Camino Real Erna & Alvin Knudsen. <br />Bell's Catering Service, 1+06 Main Street, William J. Albin, Jr., 88 Hillview Avenue.- <br />O'Connor's, 3072 Bayshore Highway, Jack R. Parkins, 173 San Luis Ave., Lomita Park. <br />Restaurants were inspected by the Health, Fire, Building and Police Departments and <br />approved. Permits were granted to all on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded <br />by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />RED ROCK SURFACING OF PARKING AREA ADJACENT TO COIMUNITY CENTER BUILDING. City Manager <br />it <br />Rolison recommended that a request of the Park & Recreation Commission,be granted <br />to surface 150' x 75' at an estimate of $300 for approximately 200 yards of rock. <br />!` Councilman Spillers moved that recommendation be approved, seconded by Councilman <br />r' Granger. Area to be provided for parking of cars on easterly side of the building, <br />i <br />between the building and Dickey Street. The drainage would be taken care of so that <br />the homes on Dickey would not get drainage from this area. <br />THE PERSONNEL BOARD SUBMITTED A PROPOSED REVISION OF MARRIED WOMAN RULE, after joint <br />Civil Service Committe of Personnel Board and City Council had met on December let. <br />After hearing the proposed points of revision, December 20th was set for the public <br />hearing on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Swift, and carried. <br />DINNER MEETING OF THE PENINSULA DIVISION, LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES, THURSDAY, December <br />f 16, 1948, at seven p.m. Howard Gardner, Assistant Director of the League was to be <br />the speaker at Lyle's on El Camino Real, South San Francisco. Councilmen agreed to <br />attend, except Councilman Morgan, and were to be notified later. City Clerk Dodge <br />was to take reservations for other City officials. <br />PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION RE0014MENDED THAT NO MONEY FROM THE RECREATION BOND FUND BE <br />expended for road construction to the proposed Armory Building -at Community Building. <br />City Manager Rolison stated it had not been determined where the money would come <br />from for this. Councilman Britschgi moved that the letter be filed until the time <br />when it would be necessary to start on this, seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />APPOINTMENT OF MR. PERRY A. BYGDNES AS MEMBER OF PORT COMMISSION, to fill the unexpired <br />term of Mr. R. C. R. Morser, who recently resigned, was approved on motion of <br />jCouncilman Granger, seconded by Councilman ,Britschgi, and carried. His term would <br />expire in July, 1950. <br />BILL SUBMITTED FOR PAINT FOR VETERAN'S BUILDING. A letter from P. C. Kirk, Comdr., of <br />Veterans of Foreign Ware, thanked the City for co-operation in the appropriation of <br />$100 toward the cost of painting the exterior of the building. The cost of paint <br />was $141.13 and the Redwood Paint Company donated the amount over the $100 appropri- <br />ated by the City. Thirty-eight members of.the Local No,.1146 Post did the painting. <br />i <br />City's portion of the bill was $102.50 including sales tax. Councilman Granger <br />i <br />offered resolution and moved adoption for transfer of $102.50 from Unbudgeted Reserve, <br />Ji <br />!i seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried on roll call. <br />e R E S O L U T I O N No. 634 <br />TRANSFERRING $102.50 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO VETERANS HALL ACCOUNT #401-22. <br />RESOLVED, that the sum of One Hundred and Two and 50/100 Dollars is hereby <br />ordered transferred from Unbudgeted Reserve to Account No.401.22, Miscellaneous <br />General Government - Veterans Building. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 6th -day of December, 1948, by the following vote: <br />
