<br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT
<br />CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEIENTS
<br />WHIPPLE AVENUE

<br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, that the public
<br />{
<br />conven-
<br />ience and necessity require, and that it intends to order in accordance with the
<br />procedure set out in the Improvement Act of 1911 as amended, and as embodied in
<br />Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, the follow-
<br />ing work to be done and improvements to be made, to wit:jp

<br />1. The improvement of 111hipple Avenue from its intersection with Circle Road,
<br />northeasterly to itsintersectionwith the Alameda de las Pulgas, by consturcting and
<br />j)
<br />installing therein 2 asphaltic concrete paving on a 6 crusher run rock base, 191
<br />thereof 15VT

<br />wide on the northerly side and wide on the southerly side thereof;
<br />standard concrete curbs and gutters either side thereof; standard concrete sidewalk
<br />on the southerly side thereof and also on the northeasterly and northwesterly re-

<br />turns at the Alameda de bs Pulgas, and standard concrete driveway approaches.

<br />2. The construction and installation of a 1211 reinforced concrete pipe storm
<br />sewer in the Alameda de las Pulgas from a point opposite Lot 13, Block 5, Edgewood
<br />Park, southeasterly approximately 30 feet to a standard storm manhole in the inter-
<br />section of the Alameda de ]a s Pulgas and Whipple Avenue and extending northeasterly
<br />approximately 41 feet from said manhole to a standard reinforced concrete catch basin
<br />to be constructed on the northerly return of the Alameda de las Pulgas and Whipple
<br />Avenue. '
<br />3. The construction and installation of a 1511 reinforced concrete pipe storm
<br />siphon along Whipple Avenue from a point opposite Lot 6, Block 13, Oak Knoll Manor
<br />to the intersection of Circle Road; thence southeasterly approximately 501 in Circle
<br />Road, with two reinforced concrete catch basins in INIhipple Avenue opposite Lot 6,
<br />Block 13 and one reinforced concrete catch basin at the terminus of said 15�1 siphon
<br />in Circle Road, and all necessary brick manholes and storm sewer laterals.
<br />4. The construction and installation of all work and furnishing all materials
<br />necessary therefor, auxiliary to any of the work provided to be done in sections 1
<br />through 3 thereof which may be reasonably required to carry out the sam .
<br />All of said work and improvements are to be constructed at the places, in the
<br />manner of the sizes, of the materials, and to the lines, grades and elevations as
<br />shown on the plans, profiles and specifications made therefor, and on file in the
<br />office of the Cite Engineer of the City of Redwood City, and the same are made a
<br />part hereof by reference thereto.
<br />Whenever any public way is referred to as running between two public ways, or
<br />from or to any public way, the intersections of the the public ways referred to are
<br />included to the extent that viol shall be done therein pursuant to the plans and
<br />specificatLons hereinbefore referred to.
<br />Said Council does hereby adopt and establish as the official grades for said
<br />work the grades as shown on the plans, profiles and specifications made therefor and
<br />hereinbefore referred to.
<br />The total estimated cost of said improvements as determined by the City Engineer
<br />of Redwood City, California, is the sum of' 201,635.29.
<br />Said contemplated work and improvements, in the opinion of said City Council, is
<br />of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said Council does hereby make the
<br />cost and expenses of doing such work and improvements chargeable upon a district,
<br />which district said Council declares to be the district benefited by said work and
<br />Improvements and to be assessed to pay the entire cost and expense thereof and which
<br />said district is partially within the limits of said City of Redwood City, State of
<br />California, and partially within the unincorporated area of San Mateo County, California
<br />and is described as follows:
<br />Said area includes portion of Oak Knoll Manor, recorded. May 10, 1916 in Vol. 10
<br />of Maps at Pages 4 to 11, inclusive, portion of Edgewood Park, recorded June 22,
<br />1925 in Vol. 12 of Maps at Page 41 and 42, and portion of Johnson Subdivision,
<br />recorded October 4 1909 in Vol. 7 of Maps at Page 2, all in San Mateo County
<br />California records of 'San Mateo County, the bearings of which are the basis of
<br />the following descriptions
<br />BEGINNING at a point of intersection in the center line of Ylhipple Avenue, 66
<br />feet in width, with the production of the Northeasterly line ofLot 8 End
<br />Portion of L'ot 9 Block 7 of Oak Knoll Manor; thence along said line S 410 101
<br />E, 240.47 feet, to an angle point of said lot 9; thence S 290 101 E, 147.15 feet,
<br />along portions of the Northeasterly lines of Lots 9 and 10 to a point midway in
<br />in Northeasterly line of said Lot 10• thence S 600 421 3011 W, 301.42 feet,along
<br />a line midway through Lot 10, Block 7 and Lot 3, Block 12, also crossing Alameda
<br />de ]as Pulgas, 50 feet in width all in Oak Knoll Manor to a point in the North-
<br />easterly line of Lot 7 Block 12 of said Oak Knoll Manor• thense S 190 551 E,
<br />136.38 feet, along the Northeasterly line of said lot to the Southeasterly cor-
<br />ner of said lot: thence N 880 311 W, 439.59 feet, along the dividing line
