There were no written or oral 4 3 ! <br />rotests. <br />F <br />,?ENING IF BIDS, HARDING, SAPPHIRE AND ST FRANCIS STREETS. L C Smith submitted bid of <br />X23,173.43 and Peter Sorensen $$25,274.40. Ten percent bid bonds were included with <br />both bids. City Engineer Jain checked the bids and reported later in the meeting. LM, <br />bid was about B% under estimate. <br />CITY hANAGER REPORT ON BID OPENING FOR 2 POLICE CARS. Following bids :indicate net cost to <br />City for replacement of 2 cars after deducting Federal Excise Tax, adding State Sales <br />Tax and deducting trade - in -allowances. <br />Tinto bfotor CO. 2 Ford 6's 01,320.00 <br />Minto Motor Co. 2 Ford 8's 12460.00 <br />Ryan & Harper 2 Plymouths 11940.36 <br />Paul Dibert 2 Plymouths 2,000.00 <br />It was recommended that the bid of Minto Motors be accepted for two 8 cylinder Fords <br />at $1460. Since only $1300 was provided in the Equipment` Replacement Fund for this pur- <br />pose a transfer of $$160 from Unbudgeted Reserve to Police Capital Outlay would be nec- <br />essary if the Council concurred in the recommendation. Councilman Morgan moved approval <br />of City Manager's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />fld5OLUTION 957 TRANSFERRIEG $16 0 FROM UNBUDGETED RESERVE TO POLICE CAP ITAL OUTLAY' was offered <br />by Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll call. Council- <br />man Spillers noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 957 <br />AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF FUNDS TO <br />ACCOUNT NO. 410.5 <br />RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redwood City that the scum of $160 <br />be and it hereby is ordered transferred from Unbudgeted Reserve.to Police Dept. <br />Capital Outlay, Acct. No. 410.5. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular meet- <br />ing thereof held on the 5th day of September, 1950, by the following vote; <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution; <br />Councilmen; GRANGER, HEi*HNER, JONES, MORGAN, ROPER, & BRITSCHGI. <br />NOES, Councilmen; NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen; SPILLERS <br />ATTEST; <br />RALPH S. Bates & Associates submitted <br />the only bid for 3 overhead doors for the #1 Fire Station which was $744 with doors <br />instalIe d according to specifications as furnished by the City. City Tlianager con- <br />curred in recommendation of Fire Chief that bid be accepted. Present doors were about <br />30 years old and had been hit on each side many tines by the trucks. The new trucks <br />were wider <br />and this reduced the clearance on each side. Bond money had been set aside <br />For this particular item in the amount of $1,000 and it was not considered in the budget <br />
