ABATEMENT - 53T Hamilton Street and 503' Bradford Street, J. J. Bbl ock._Estate. Fire Chief` .21 <br />Lodi stated the condition had not changed - there was sti17 a definite life hazard <br />J <br />here. City Attorney 'Currie stated this had been continued pending eviction of the <br />tenants. At the March 6th Council meeting it was reported that owner Cortez would <br />hAve to wait four months for certification from the Housing Authority. Councilman <br />Granger moved that this be placed on the agenda, seconded by Councilman 'Morgan and <br />carried. <br />CLAIMS Nos. 3046 to 3174 inclusive in the amount of 0459471-05 were approved for payment <br />on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded by Councilman Werder and carried. <br />ADJOUNMENT TO MONDAY, May 12th, 1950, 8:00 P. m. on motion of Councilman Morgan, seconded <br />by Councilman YJerder and carried. <br />Adjourned 11:000 P. M. <br />ON ROLL •CALL the following were present: Councilmen: Floyd D. Granger, Paul Jones, <br />Albert H. Morgan, Jr., Wm. H. Royer, Robert V. Spillers, Mayor Carl A. Britschgi and <br />City Clerk Ralph S. Dodge. Also present were: City Manager E. A..Rolison, Adminis- <br />trative Assistant Richard D. Miller, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Police Capt. 'S'. E <br />Douglas and City Attorney C. B. Currie. Councilman Werder noted absent. <br />MAYOR BRITSCHGI EXPLAINED TO THE AUDIENCE THAT THE COUNCIL WOULD TAKE BUT A FEW MINUTES to <br />pass a Resolution, and take care of one or two items of business after which they <br />would adjourn and the chambers would be turned over to the Planning Commission. <br />A LETTER WAS READ FROM THE 20-30 CLUB REQUESTING PERMISSION TO HANG A BANNER READING "QUEEN'S <br />CORONATION BALL, SATURDAY, JUNE 240 AMERICAN LEGION BUILDING" across Broadway, <br />further agreeing to carry necessary insurance. The request was granted on motion of <br />Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. <br />A LETTER WAS READ FROM THE PERSONNEL BOARD RECOMMENDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF $2.25 HOURLY <br />RATE for Engineering Inspectors on a temporary basis. The Board also, recommended <br />that Personnel Ordinance No. 482 be amended to allow the inspectors hired on tempor- <br />ary basis to work longer than six months in any .one fiscal year. This could be <br />accomplished by applying the six month limit to competitive positions only. Council- <br />man Granger stated that he and Councilman Jones had discussed the matter with the <br />Personnel Board, and they recommended that the change be authorized. On motion of <br />Councilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Morgan, City Attorney Currie was directed to <br />prepare the necessary amendment for introduction at the next meeting. <br />ATTENTION OF THE COUNCIL WAS DIRECTED TO THE TRAFFIC SITUATION in the vicinity of the new <br />Broadway Market and,it was recommended that additional parking meters be installed <br />on Broadway to help alleviate the situation. After discussion, Councilman Spillers <br />i <br />offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded'by Councilman Morgan, and carried on <br />roll call, Councilman Werder noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 885. <br />ESTABLISHING PARKING METERS ON BOTH SIDES OF BROADWAY BETWEEN MAIN AND <br />SPRING STREETS AND ON A PORTION OF SPRING STREET. <br />RESOLVED by the Council of Redwood 'City as follows: <br />1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of Ordinance No. 5672 passed and <br />adopted by the Council of Redwood City on December 2, 1946s parking meter zones are <br />hereby established in Redwood City as follows: <br />0 <br />411 <br />II <br />
