The sketches were submitted. Councilman Morgan moved that this be <br />referred to the Planning Commission for their consideration, seconded by Councilmap <br />Spillers. City Attorney Currie stated the attorney for San Mateo Feed & Fuel Company <br />had no desire to by-pass the Planning Commission but thought at the time this was <br />referred to the Planning Commission they could also adopt a Resolution of Intention <br />and provide for a hearing on January 15th, 1951. This would in no way obligate the <br />II �' <br />Council and would save three weeks time if the Council approved later. They felt <br />IIS' <br />what they were about to undertake would be a benefit to Redwood City. Councilman <br />Morgan objected to the procedure as the Council was almost going on record approving <br />the request and this was up to the Planning Commission to make a recommendation first, <br />Councilman Royer offered Resolution of Intention on abandonment of easement, seconded <br />by Councilman Herkner. Councilman Morgan thought if this proposal or step would be <br />advantageous to the City they should know what it was all about before taking any <br />Council action. Councilman Granger <br />a j stated in the years he had been here he had seen industry attempt to come into the <br />City only to be blocked by some. On roll call motion was lost, Councilmen Granger, <br />41 <br />Herkner, and Royer voting Yes. <br />� i lig <br />i A LETTER FROIui THE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS REGARDING RELOCATION OF PRIVATELY OVJNED UTILITY <br />FACILITIES, signed by Jno H Skeggs, Assistant State Highway Engineer. They requested <br />notice of any public hearing, in connection with the application by privately owned <br />�i utility company for neer franchise or for amendment of an existing franchise as it <br />{ I { was their intention to delegate a representative of the Division of Highways to <br />attend the hearings and they wished to be notified at the earliest possible moment <br />of date set for hearings and that they be furnished a copy of the proposed franchise <br />I! I <br />i Councilman Morgan moved that the request be observed and notices sent to them, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />A LETTER PROM CITY MANAGER ROLISON REGARDING PROPOSED INCREASE IN WATER RATES.
