RESOLUTION No. 1026 ABANDONING ALLEY was offered and moved for adoption by Councilman
<br />Royer, seconded by Councilman Herkner. Some of the Councilmen questioned what type
<br />of building was to be constructed in this location. A. blueprint and letter was mailed
<br />by L. Vise, Advisor of the Planning Commission, but had not been received by the Clerk.
<br />City Engineer presented sketch to the Council. Mr. Paul Server, realtor, stated his
<br />clients were intending to build a 5 -story building on this site. Mr. de Geller
<br />owned the balance of the property that would be affected and he had given his
<br />approval in writing to abandon a portion of the alley, retaining the 18' portion
<br />running into El Camino Real. City Engineer Jain objected to abandonment of 20 ft.
<br />portion unless the 18 ft. portion remaining was extended through to Franklin Street
<br />or to abandon the entire alley because of traffic hazard involved by trucks having
<br />to back out of the alley into E1 Camino Real traffic. Motion carried on roll call.
<br />One week's time could be saved by setting hearing date anytime after the 27th day of
<br />January. Public hearing to be called January 30th at 8:00 P. 117.

<br />thought best to mow and disc all the way through this year because of early rains.
