He suggests the possibility, if increase in cost of <br />living index warrants it, that salaries be advanced by one step. Klatter should be <br />referred to the Personnel Board in time to be considered at budget meetings, and <br />Councilman Granger so moved, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER COMMENTED ON LACIC OF PROGRAIM TO INSTALL NECESSARY SIRENS CALLING <br />ATTENTION TO THE RECENT UNSATISFACTORY TEST. Mayor Britschgi stated that the <br />Committee had been studying the matter but were waiting for some action on the <br />part of the County. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman Spillers, that <br />the matter of sirens be referred to the committee for study and report back to the <br />Council. Motion carried. Councilman Jones suggested that Civilian members of the <br />committee be appointed as soon as possible. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER COMMENTED ON THE LACK OF ARTERIALS ON HUDSON STREET BEYOND JAMES <br />AVENUE NORTH, he being of the opinion there should be an arterial running north to <br />south and from east to west. Chief Wood advised traffic counts were to be resumed <br />as soon as weather permits. Councilman Spillers moved matter be placed on the agenda <br />for March 19th, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER ASKED THAT THE COUNCIL GIVE SO11E STUDY AND CONSIDERATION TO THE OFF <br />STREET PARKING PROGRAM CALLING ATTENTION TO THE PROGRAM in back of the City Hall <br />which was voted down by the people. He suggested that the City Engineer work up <br />some figures of cost for this project and also moved that the matter be referred <br />to the Off -Street Parking Committee for study. Motion seconded by Councilman Royer <br />and carried. <br />COUIdCILMAId GRANGER STATED HE HAD BEEN APPROACHED BY A LOCAL SIGN CONTRACTOR SUGGESTING <br />an increase in license.
