307 <br />PORT CObtbIISSIOPi AGREEMENT TO PAY X23, 882.50 FOR RETIREMENT OF BONDS AIM INTEREST <br />BEFORE JULY 1st, 1951 so that tax rate will not include sufficient moneys to retire ' <br />bonds. The Commission requests assurance that the money will be set aside for <br />the payment indicated only. Councilman Herkner offered resolution, but was ad_ <br />vised that resolution could not be prepared until such time as the money was <br />actually recieved. Councilman Granger moved that City Attorneyi i <br />I' <br />prepare resolution 'r! <br />j; � it <br />when money has been received setting up a special fund from which bonds would <br />be retired and interest paid. Motion seconded .by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />f °I <br />Councilman Herkner commended the Port Commission for their action, and hoped that <br />roper publicity be given to the matter. <br />APPOINTMENT MEMBER PLANNING COMMISSION. Placed on the agenda, Councilman to give some <br />thought to selecting a man to serve on this Commission. <br />i <br />BID FOR ALTITUDE VELVE. Three bids were received, each one identical. Water Superintendent <br />Minter recommended bid of Crane Company inasmuch as ithis Company has received less <br />Concurred in by City Manager. So ordered on motion l'• ' <br />business than other bidders. <br />of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Price to be <br />paid is $1041..25 delivered. <br />P <br />BIDS PURCHASE SLUDGE FROM SEWER PLANT. Two bids were received, as follows: <br />Fontana Fertilizer Co 01.00 per cu yd!; <br />Pacific Garden Prods. Co. 1.35 ° �� ° from beds f <br />1.85 n " n n stock pile <br />City Manager recommends accepting bid of Pacific Garden Prods. Co. So ordered on <br />motion of Councilman Herkner, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried.. <br />APPOINTMENT MEMBERS RECREATION COMMISSION. City Manager recommended the following to <br />succeed themselves: John H. Poole, tleram S. Stout and Wm. Hanley. Terms will expire <br />April 12, 1955, Recommendation approved on motion of Councilman Spillers, Seconded <br />by Councilman Royer.. Carried. <br />CITY OF PALO ALTO CONTRIBUTION TWARD STREET IMPROVEMENTS. City Engineer Jain asked <br />that the following be submitted to the Council for their consideration:• <br />City of Palo Alto Council Minutes March 26, 1951: "A report, was ay' <br />submitted by Committee No.. 5 recommending the establishment of the ; <br />following policy on City contribution toward street improvement: <br />(1) Thatthe improvement of travelled wasy on streets of It It <br />an industrial or commercial zone shall be at the <br />expense of abutting property up to a width of 50 feet.. <br />Width in excess of 50 feet shall be improved by City <br />contribution. d� <br />(2) That the improvement of travelled way on streets other <br />than those of industrial or commercial zones shall ,be ;!f 'i <br />at the expense of abuttingro ert u to a width of <br />40 feet. Width in excess of 40 feet shall be improved II'! <br />by City contribution. <br />(3) That City Contribution will not be made toward added <br />thickness of improvement that, may be required for wider <br />l <br />than normal street. <br />It wasexplained that "travelled way" does not include <br />sidewalks;, also that the City contribution may be. in <br />the form of Gas Tax Funds". GIp <br />City Clerk was directed to mail & copy of this to each Councilman. <br />TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COI14PtIITTEE RECOMMENDATION 1 HR PARKING ON EAST SIDE HAMILTON J�! <br />STREET BETWEEN MARSHALL AATD BRADFORD. This matter will be considered further ! h <br />at the next Friday Traffic meeting. Councilman Granger thought 2 hour parking <br />fairer.
