<br />CONhIITTEE REPORT ON SEWER IMPROVEIDIENTS BY COUNCILMAN HERKNER was read and included the
<br />following points:
<br />1. Estimated sewer pipe, fittings, etc necessary will be calculated at once.

<br />2. Gladding McBean and other suppliers to be contacted for prices and delivery dates,
<br />3. City to advertise for bids for materials to secure benefit of present prices

<br />Upon receipt of bids, materials will be ordered; paymentmade when due.

<br />Mr. Adamson to prepare plans under agreement between City Manager, City Engineer,
<br />submit to Council for approval upon fixed fee basis.

<br />7. City to call for bids for installation under one of following methods:

<br />(b) In sections as determined be benefits to be derived and the availability
<br />of materials.

<br />After discussion Councilman Granger moved that r-eport be accepted, that Committee be
<br />complimented and that the points brought out be referred to the proper authorities
<br />y
<br />to carry out, a tenth point being added to the report on suggestion by Councilman

<br />Morgan advising, Committee to include a roll back clause in any bids solicited to

<br />take advantage of any prices reduced under the national inflation control procedure.

<br />Motion was seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. Councilmen Herkner stated'
<br />that it was the intention to complete the whole job as soon as possible.

<br />COMMITTEE REPORT ON EIRE IMPROVEMENT BY COUNCILMAN ROPER. Fire Committee including Fire
<br />Chief, City Manager and Councilman Spillers had already met once and was to meet
<br />Tuesday, May 224d, with Mr. Poole in regard to acquisition of property for Central
<br />Fire,House. After discussion Councilman Granger moved that proper authorities pro-
<br />ceed based upon the findings of the study committee, seconded by Councilman Herkner
<br />and carried. On question of branch fire house, Friendly Acres, City IJlanager was
<br />asked to contact architects and report back to the Council. A further meeting was
<br />to be held on Friday with the Fire Underwriters after which further recommendations'
<br />were to be made.
<br />WATER REPORT WAS SIMILAR AND CITY MANAGER AND MR. WINTER REPORTED THAT COST ESTIMATES and
<br />delivery dates, were being solicited. Mayor Britschgi asked the City Attorney to pre-
<br />pare a resolution of intent to spend all Water Bond Money within the City limits as
<br />pledged to the people by the Council prior to the election.
