Councilman Granger Mr. Sorensen responded to this inquiry by stating that he was working with Frost & Brian on the Plans, and would use whatever materials appeared necessary as the work progressed. He asked that the City crew paint the bridge railings. Mr. Granger asked about the Possibility of having a breakdown of the labor and materials submitted. Councilman Morgan stated that in his opinion this matter should be handled by the City Engineer ing Department exactly as other construction work is handled. Councilman Herkner suggested that Sorensen and Frost & Brian might collaborate on simple plans and spec fications which could then be checked by the City Engineer. City Engineer Jain asked that Frost & Brian be requested to sign the bridge plans, and submit a letter accepting full responsibility for the adequacy of the bridge as designed by them and constructed by Peter Sorensen. Councilman Morgan stated that he would only be satisfied with plans that meet the requirements of the City Engineer. Councilman Royer revised his motion to require Frost & Brian to submit a letter with minimum Plans and specifications for the approval of the City Engineer. If approved, the City to go ahead with the project. Motion seconded by Councilman Jones. Council- man Spillers asked the City Engineer,if he would have a City Inspector on this job, and was informed by Mr. Jain that inspection could not be made unless adequate plans and specifications were provided, since in the absence of such documents there was no minimum or other standard set up as a basis for inspection. STREET LIGHTS, EL CAMINO REAL BETPEEN BROADWAY AND BRE4GSTER AVENUE, City Engineer Jain }i reported that plans have been approved by the State, and weather permitting, work would start immediately. PLANNING COMMISSION'S RECOMMENDATION ON OFFICIAL PLAN LINES, VALOTA ROAD, WOODSIDE ROAD TO REDWOOD AVENUE 60 foot right-of-way proposed.
