412 <br />7 <br />voting "No". <br />Bids -Purchase of 12" cast iron pipe = Councilman Royer moved bids for 4,000 lineal feet <br />of 12" cast pipe be advertised, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />Councilman.Herkner requested a report on annexations and subdivisions be rendered by the <br />City Manager within two weeks. <br />Planning Commission issued a use permit to Virgil Frey for a used car sales lot at <br />t 115 E1 Camino Real, subject to conditions. Mr. J. Clarke appeared and was advised <br />he should apply for a used car license as required by Ordinance. Mr. Clarke•ad- <br />vised this sales lot would be operated by Mr. John Clarkeson who was formerly a <br />dealer in Redwood City. Councilman Britschgi moved the matter of use permit be held <br />over until the meeting of August 22, until Mr. Clarke could apply for - the necessary <br />license. Motion seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: PURCHASE LOTS 23 TO 28, BLOCK 375 CENTRAL <br />PARK #2 (I-PIRTLE BETWEEN MADISON AND CREEK, COMMUNITY PARK). Councilman Royer moved <br />that City Attorney Currie negotiate for the purchase of these lots and bring back a <br />recommendation to the Council., seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />REMOVAL MINIATURE RAILROAD TRACKS TO ALLOW INSTALLATION SPRINKLER SYSTEM. Councilman <br />Royer moved approval of Park and Recreation Commission, City Attorney to prepare <br />necessary notice to Mr. Layton. Councilman Stout and Councilman Spillers were both <br />of the opinion that miniature train should not be done away with entirely but an <br />effort should be made to find another location. Motion carried, Councilman Stout <br />and Spil]e rs voting "No". <br />ALLOW COUNTY RECEIVING HOME CHILDREN USE SWIMMING POOL FACILITIES. Councilman Spillers <br />�d <br />moved approval of the Commission's recommendation, the children to be allowed to use <br />the swimming facilities.at Community Park without customary charges, motion seconded <br />by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />MASTER TREE PLANTING PLAN. The Park and Recreation Commission recommends that trees sat- <br />isfactory to the Park Superintendent and the merchants concerned by planted on E1 <br />Camino Real between Whipple and Broadway. Councilman Britschgi moved approval of <br />the recommendation, seconded by Councilman Granger, matter to be placed on the Agenda <br />for September 26 meeting. Motion carried. Park and Recreation Commission further <br />request that money be allocated to complete city-wide master plan (curb way tree plan). <br />Councilman Britschgi moved that this matter be referred to the City Manager to report ` <br />back at the next meeting with his recommendation. Motion seconded by Councilman Royer <br />and carried. �l <br />MR. PAUL TESSENDORFF, 45 CIA REMONT AVENUE, complained of the "filthy condition" along the <br />strip between E1 Camino Real and the railroad track, there being papers, bottles, <br />i <br />cans, etc. in evidence. He also called attention to the high weeds growing on prop- <br />erty between the Standard Service Station and the Fox Shoppe. He also called atten- <br />tion that automobiles were driving through the lot in back of the Fox Shoppe into �Iv <br />I <br />Whipple Avenue. Councilman Granger moved that these matters be checked into bythe <br />City Manager and proper action taken, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />CLAIMS.
