Hunt, 4160 Jefferson Avenue, requested a new water connection to Lot 35, 601 Emerald Lake Highlands
I
"Mr. Hunt appeared in person and asked for the water connection. There was considerable discussion as to .
-I why Mr. Hunt should or should not receive this connection. In 1953 he was given a connection IS ecause of a
hardship case of his well runnink dry. Since that time Mr. Hunt has dug another well and built another home
knowing what the water conditions were in Emerald Lake. The
motion carried.
Councilman Granger was of the opinion that something should be done about the traffic on Ring Street, possibly
additional stop signs at Katherine and Brewster Avenue. This was followed by discussion after which
Councilman Granger moved to refer this matter to the Traffic Fact Finding Committee for investigation.
Councilman Britschgi seconded the motion on the condition that the motion"be changed to report back on the
prebent study. Motion carried*
Councilman Granger referred to°the converted park area of the Hetch—Hetchy right—of—way. He was of the opinion
that the piece of land on the east side of Carson Street, about 1501 deep and butts into the creek, could
also be converted into a park"area. He stated that this was a "No Maims Land" and he moved to refer this to
the Park and Recreation Commission for consideration similar to the one in Westwood Terrace, seconded by
Councilman Royer and carried.
Councilman Royer asked to have placed on the agenda the report from the City Manager in regard to elimination of
the bus stop at Hopkins Avenue and'E1 Camino Real.
Mr. Paul Traver, 410 Flynn Avenue, asked the Council if anything could be done in regard to the entrance lights
i
-to Redwood Pillage. This was followed by $iscussion after which Councilman Granger moved to refer this to
the City Manager for investigation with the thought of sub stituting the lights, seconded by Councilman
Jones and carried.
Mr. Traver asked to have the County Health Department send in a report in reggrd to Oddstad Matters The
Clerk was so directed.
Cl
Claims #18751 through #18896, totaling $50018.57, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Royer, seconded by
Councilman Britschgi and carried.
Councilman Britschgi was of the opinion that the City should investigate the matter of the Mercury Plant before
the public hearing. This was followed by discussion. Councilman Jones suggested that the City obtain a
report from the Bureau of Mines. The Mayor directed the City Manager to secure this report from the Bureau
and a copy of"the report to be turned over to Mr. Connors.
Councilman Spillers moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Granger made
a substitute motion toadjourn out of respect of Sgt. Andrew Morgan, brother of former police officer Danaa
Morgan, and the City Attorney was directed to bring in a proper resolution at the next meetings seconded by
Councilman Spillers and carried.
