This a was turned over to Mr. Kimball. , The matter of the lighting entrance to Redwood Village is being considered by the P. G. & E. Mr. Tessendorf asked if there was anything which could be done about the dogs being herded to Wellesley } Crescent. Councilman Spillers moved to have the City Manager see that signs be installed saying "No Dogs Allowed". After discussion, Councilman Spillers changed the motion to refer this to the Park and Recreation to study all the parks, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi., Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner, Robert V. Spillers, Hiram S. Stout, Louis Weiss, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Also noted present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, City Attorney C. B. Currie, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Assistant Water Superintendent Warren 12itchell, Assistant to City Manager L. A. Kimball, Fire Marshal George Asvos, City Collector Paul E. Perrin, Acting Police Chief Theodore Moudakas, Account -Clerk Vivian Holmquist, -Assistant to City Manager, L. A. Kimball and James Thomas representing the Chamber of Commerce. r PUBLIC HEARING, HIGHLANDS TERRITORY NO. 13 SEWER AND ITATER. ADOPTION OF FIVE RESOLUTIONS. Affidavit of publication was ordered filed. The Clerk read appetition with 80 signatures protesting their inclusion in the assessment district. There was also a card from James A. Bussell reouesting permission to be heard and protesting the installation of water main on Glenwood Avenue. Those speaking against the inslusion of their property were A. F. sundquist, James Bussell, Wayne Millington (speaking for the petitioners), John Campbell and Harry Kock. The majority of the people protesting were of the opinion that the 2° water line was sufficient for their needs and they feel that the one fire hydrant will carry enough water to put out any fires. Fire Chief Lodi reported that anything under a 6 inch line is not sufficient for fire protection and will q not pump out the necessary 500 gallons per minute required to meat sufficient fire protection needs. 0" If these people are allowed to keep the two inch line, they will, in all liklihood, penalize the whole town as far as fire rates are concerned. Water Superintendent Winter reported that the people who live in this a rea probably have enough water now but when the area is built up the water will not be sufficient to take care of the area. This was followed by a very lengthy discussion in regard to leaving r out the glenwood avenue area, drawing up new plans, steps the Council could take and whether or not the proceedings should start all over. Councilman E3ritschgi moved to continue the public hearing and carry this on the agenda for two weeks, hold a study meeting and explain the situation to the people, and the City Engineer to report back in tow weeks, seconded by Councilman Granger. Councilman Spillers asked that they pick a date to meet with the City Engineer. The date picked was Wednesday night, May 9th at 8:00 P. M., in the Council Chambers. The motion carried.
