It was agreed that if possible the recommendation would be presented to City Council on Mondpy May 219, Respectfully, Vincent Rambo, Chairman Mr. Rambo stated that the only other possible site in Redwood City was the Yacht Harbor and the Committee did not feel that this would do for their project. Councilman Herkner moved that this Committee be given a vote of thanks for such a complete report on such an intangible thing, and also to acdept the report, seconded by Councilman Weiss, Councilman Stout was of the opinion that a letter should be written by the Clerk to each member of the Committee. This was included in the motion which carried. Mr. Rambo stated that there wasn't much more that the Committee could do on this until the City takes some action. The mayor asked the Clerk to send a copy of this report to the Park and Recreation Commission requesting their recommendation on this report. Councilman Britschgi was of the opinion that if Stulsaft Park were considered they couldn't possibly park all the cars and still have room for the park. Councilman Granger stated that the people who made the recommendation to have the Fairyland should be given a vote of thanks also, and he was of the opinion that the Clerk should write a letter to the Lions Club telling them that the Council is still looking favorably on this project and will try to find a suitable place either in Redwood City or even possibly someplace in the County. Folsom & 17th Streets San Francisco Western Traction Co. 2230 Third Street San Francisco West Coast Engine and Equipment Company; 1077 Eastshore Highway Berkeley 1 only Worthington 125 CFM Air Compressor $ 3,741.48 1 only new Jaeger Model 125 Rotary L'Air Plust' $ 3,3901.64 Portable Compressor 1 only new Chicago Pneumatic , 125 CFM Rotary Portable Air Compressor $ 3,957.73 1 only 125 CFM Worthington Rotary Compressor to meet City specification $ 4,325.00 The Water Superintendent recommended acceptance of the Edward R. Bacon Company bid for supplying a new 125 CFM Jaeger Rotary °Air Plus" Po.•table Compressor in the amount of $3,901.64. This compressor meets the City specifications and is powered by a heavy duty six cylinder engine which he believes tends toward a lower speed and more quiet operation. The other compressors have four cylinder engines. The Water Department has three Jaeger Compressors now in service and the Street Department recently purchased a similar unit. The maintenance service of the Edward R. Bacon Company has always been very sati§factory. The City Manager concurred in the Water Superintendents recommendation since he believes that this represents the best value to the City. C*Uhcilman Spillers moved to accept the recommendation and award the bid to Edward R. Bacon Co. This was followed by a lengthy discussion as to why this bid was recommended rather than the lowest bid. The lowest bid was a piston and not rotary compressor as called for in the bids. The Bacon Company compressor is a 6 cylinder compressor whereas the others bid on a 4 cylinder one. Under the specifications they could bid on either the 4 or the 6 cylinder.
