There being no protests, written or oral, <br />Councilman Britschgi moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />Councilman Britschgi offered ORDINANCE 600.72 REZONING PROPERTY NEAR OAK KNOLL DRIVE AND CANYON ROAD <br />FROM 11U11 TO C -1—H and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll c all, <br />Councilman Spillers being, noted absent. 4:11 <br />CITY CLERK REPORT REGARDING ABANDONMENT RESTRICTIONS GRANNY GOOSE. The report reads as follows: <br />The undersigned received a phone call from Rudeco Co., owners of the Granny Goose building <br />to the effect that an error was made when they applied for abandonment of the provision <br />prohibiting the use, of 10fte strip adjacent to, the alley at the rear. They now request <br />abandonment of the entire 15 fte strip. The Pinning Commission is in accord with this <br />request. n <br />City Attorney Currie stated that if the Cpuncil wished to proceed with the request that he had <br />prepared the necessary revolution. Councilman Britschgi offered RESOLUTION 2080 ABANDONING THE <br />PROVISION PROHIBITING THE. USE OF 15 FOOT STRIP ADJACENT TO THE ALLEY IN THE REAR CF THE GRANNY GOOSE <br />PROPERTY and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried on roll call, Councilman <br />Spillers being noted absent. <br />COMM;TTEE REPORT ON CLIF HUDDLETONIS application for dance permit. The report, in parts, reads as <br />follows: <br />It should be noted that the three parking areas away from the premises, which Mr. <br />Huddleton advised would be used for parking, were not available nor had Mr. Huddleton contacted <br />any of the owners of that property with regard to use of the property for parking <br />Therefore, it is the recommendation of this committee that the application be denied <br />under present conditions. <br />If the Council at any time should see, fit to grant a permit for dancing, it should be <br />granted only under the following minimum conditions: <br />1. No outdoor dancing. <br />2* Adequate parking be provided on, the site for not less than sixty cars. <br />3. Occupancy load in all buildings shall be as provided in Chapter 33 of the Uniform <br />Building Code. <br />4e All dancing must be in a separate room which construction must comply with .all <br />requirements of the Health.,. Building and Fire Departments. <br />5* No advertising should be permitted. <br />6* Dancing should be permitted only from noon to 1:00 A*, Me to a juke box except on <br />Sundays. On Sundays he be permitted, during the same hours, to have a four piece <br />band maximum. <br />7* No outside loud speaker should be permitted. <br />8* Detailed construction plans and plans for the development of the area should be <br />submitted in writing to conform with all of the above provisions and the Building <br />and Fire Codes of the City of Redwood City* <br />9e Any permit granted should not be effective until all of the foregoing conditions <br />Aad been complied with and all construction completed* <br />lOe Any permit granted should be revocable at the option of an in the absolute <br />discretion of the Council of Redwood City without notice to the applicant upon <br />the recommendation of the Chief of Police* <br />The Committee consisted of E. A. Rolison, C. Be Currie, We L. Faulstich and J. L. Lodi:. Councilman <br />Britschgi moved approval of the Committee's recommendation. Councilman Herkner questioned why they <br />should be required to operate on Sunday without advertising* The Committee fells that this was one <br />of Mre Huddleton's own suggestions, and they, the Committee, decided to go along and make it a part <br />of their recommendation. Councilman Granger, based upon the study of the Committee, stated that he <br />could not see how the City could turn down the recommendation and based on this he seconded the motion* <br />This was followed by discussion* Councilman 'Reiss stated that the Committee's recommendations <br />were very good, however, he was of the opinion that the conditions were very stringent.
