Kren from the Personnel Board effective January <br />1, 1957• Mr. Kren will be moving to Monterey where he has accepted employment. Councilman Weiss moved <br />that the resignation be accepted with regrets and a letter of appreciation be sent, seconded by Councilman <br />Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Weiss brought up the matter of Council meetings on December 24 and December 31• Councilman <br />Granger moved that no Council meetings be held on December 24 -or December 31st, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers and carried. <br />Claims 20919 to 21038, totaling 04,616.81, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by <br />Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br />Councilman Spillers moved that the meeting be adjourned to December 10th, seconded by Councilman Britschgi <br />and carried. M. <br />INVOCATION was lead by Reverend Herbert Allen, Assistant Pastor First Congregational Church. <br />• <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Carl A. Britschgi, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney <br />D. Herkner, Hiram S. Stout, Louis Weiss, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Councilman <br />Robert Spillers was noted absent. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Engineer Glenn <br />M. Jain, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Police Chief William <br />Faulstich, Assistant to City Manager L. A. Kimball, Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Building Inspector S. H. <br />Kreiss and Account—Clerk Vivian Holmquist. <br />Mario Regalato, Junior Chamber of Commerce, presented the Courtesy Driver of the Week award to Mr. Marjory <br />C <br />Wallbrecht. Mr. Regalato explained how the Junior Chamber decided who would receive the award and <br />waht bars. Wallbrecht did in the way of a courtesy in order to::receive her award. <br />Councilman Britschgi moved to continue the public hearing of Ben Miller's appeal of the Planning Commission <br />denial of variance to construct garage at the front property corner of 765 Upland Road (por. Lot 3, <br />Block 24, Oak Knoll Manor-), seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Granger offered ORDINANCE 837 ESTABLISHING ANGLE PARKING ON PORTIONS OF WINSLOW AND HAMILTON <br />
